I cannot speak of Southgate and Roberts highly enough. From the first meeting to the farewell after the cremation the service was professional, sensitive and of a high quality. Not the least expensive but the premium service we received far outweighed the additional expense. Liam was first rate and could not do enough for us. He guided us through the process with confidence, grace and with great skill, knowing exactly what we required at each step. My mother would have been delighted with the service she received, which is exactly what we had hoped for.

We cannot thank Liam and the team at Southgate & Roberts, enough for their exceptional care, guidance, and support during one of the most difficult times in our lives. From the very first contact, they handled everything with such compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail, making an incredibly painful process just a little bit easier for us.








What truly stood out was their unwavering willingness to accommodate every single one of our requests, no matter how big or small. They accepted each and every one with patience and understanding, ensuring that our dad’s farewell was exactly as we envisioned—dignified, meaningful, and deeply personal.












Their kindness and professionalism never wavered, and we truly felt we were in safe hands the entire way. 












We felt that they gave us comfort and reassurance when ...  we needed it most. We will always be grateful for their outstanding service and the genuine care they showed our family.

Anyone who, like me recently, finds themselves in the unenviable position of needing to choose a funeral director should look no further than Southgate and Roberts.
Liam and his team could not have done more in any aspect of the funeral arrangements for my dear husband Richard. Not only were they highly accomplished and professional throughout but they demonstrated a remarkable degree of human kindness that was shown in the lengths to which they went to reassure me that all was well and there was no need for me to worry about anything other than to concentrate on the enormity of the occasion. I felt safe and cared for in their capable hands and am truly grateful.
When this beautiful promise found in God’s Word at Revelation 21: 3,4 becomes a reality, “… death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”, then we will have no further need of any of the services this firm kindly provides as there will be no more funer ... als, cremations or graves. Even more wonderful to contemplate is the assurance found elsewhere at John 5: 28 and Acts 24: 15 that those already sleeping in death, safe in God’s memory, will be brought back to life.

We received exceptional service in every respect from the first moment we had contact with Southgate and Roberts.

A special mention however must go to Darren Lucas who guided us through a very traumatic time as we made arrangements for the funeral of our beloved only son Ian. Darren remained professional at all times, but helped and guided us through the formalities with compassion, caring and understanding ensuring that we understood what was needed every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble for Darren and he was always there if we needed support or guidance. He arranged a wonderful Celebrant, Rachel Metson,to officiate at the service. He also advised on suitable music, arranged the printing of the Orders of Service and collated the family phographs to be shown at the Time of Reflection during the service.

On the day of Ian's funeral Darren was there in his usual professional and caring manner making sure that everything went smoothly.

We must als ... o mention Liam and other members of their staff who cared for our son with dignity and respect at all times. Also the staff assisting at Ian's funeral.

Anyone having to arrange a funeral for their loved one, would have difficulty finding more professional and caring Funeral Directors than Darren, Liam and their team at Southgate and Roberts.

For all the help and support we received from everyone we say thank you, we will be forever grateful.

I cannot praise the personal touch given to me and my family on our sad loss of a dear husband dad and grandad. Totally professional on every level and extremely helpful throughout.   They looked after my husband right from the start and handled problems that cropped up along the way. Darren and Liam were the two funeral directors we dealt with and I would recommend them to anyone requiring funeral services. 10/10. Well done. Very pleased.

During the preparatory phases prior to the funeral, Liam made sure we understood when we had to make our inputs into the process and sent us review schedules to ensure we were on top of things from our side. During the funeral, Liam did a lovely job of keeping us on track in an orderly but compassionate way. We were all very appreciative of being smoothly guided through a difficult day.

We Cant Thank Enough All At The Southgate & Roberts But Especially Darren Lucas For All The Support,Help,Understanding ,Kindness And Respect To Make Extremely Painful Situation To Be So Much More Bearable. Darren Went Over And Above To Help Us To Send Loving Father, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Friend And My Ex Husband Brendon Off With Dignity He So Much Deserved 🙏 We Used Southgate &Roberts Chapel What Was Perfect For Brendon's Memorial Service..Because Brendon Have Family Back In South Africa They Arranged And Set Up Zoom Online So That Family Can Watch Service Live Online. They Were Extremely Helpful And Caring. And They Aren't There To Rip You Off Like Many Of The Big Funeral Directors. It Was Very Clear That They Are There To Support Families During Sad Times. I Would Highly Recommend Southgate & Roberts To Everyone Who Unfortunately Has Lost Their Loved Ones, But I Know They Will Be Cared For With Respect And Dignity.
