Can’t thank Slaters enough. They enabled us to give dad the send off he deserved. The service they gave all the way through was excellent, guiding us through the whole process with the empathy & support to make it as painless as possible. Informing us of all the options available but also advising us when they thought it was for our best interest. The same excellent service was provided by the florist, Pastor & venue with whom they recommended & worked with to provide the whole package. Couldn’t have wished for better.

John, Donna and the team at A Slater & Sons have all been wonderful in their support for the family during such a sad time, when Dad passed away unexpectedly. They have been amazing in helping the family navigate the funeral arrangements, and organising such a beautiful and fitting service to say goodbye. Nothing is too much trouble, from looking after Dad (and us) and managing all the arrangements so beautifully and with such respect and dignity, it really was so comforting during such an awful time.

The service we received from A Slaters & sons was outstanding from the first phone call to the day of mums cremation, they gave advice,support and cared for all the family during the process, Donna was amazing and gave me all the support to get me through all the difficult decisions that needed to be made, the care given to mum on her final journey was outstanding. A. Slater & Sons are Uttoxeters only independent funeral directors, who have been serving families in the local area for over 100 years.
Originally opened by the current owner John’s great-grandfather, Abner Slater, over 110 years ago, A.Slater & Sons covers a wide area, offering both traditional and more bespoke funerals. Any kind of ceremony and funeral can be catered for - just ask the team and they will be able to help.
The compassionate team at A. Slater & Sons believe strongly that a funeral should reflect the person who has died. This means that every funeral they arrange is carefully crafted to be not just a sombre occasion, but also a celebration of that person’s life.
