A Slater & Son offer an extensive choice of coffins and caskets, including classic veneered and solid wood designs, eco-friendly wicker, bespoke picture coffins, and more. Funeral transport options are equally varied, including traditional hearses and luxury vehicles, horse-drawn carriages with black or white horses, motorcycle hearses and other unique options.

    John and his team were there for us from the beginning. They were very caring and compassionate, but always professional. There for us when we needed advice and guidance. Nothing was too much trouble. They took the worry away from us when arranging what we had to do after our sad loss, and helped us through everything. The funeral itself was as perfect as a funeral could be. Would highly recommend.

    A Slater & Sons were highly recommended to us by the local community after a poll on social media.  Being 300 miles away I required a funeral direct I could trust. John and Donna were so accommodating to my extensive wish list, communication was first class, nothing was a bother.  They excelled in everything, their meticulous planning, quality of service and materials was the best.  I left a lot of trust in John and Donna and they surpassed my expectations.  I can’t thank them enough.  The people of Uttoxeter and Ashbourne area are so lucky to have such a fantastic funeral director.     Can’t thank Slaters enough. They enabled us to give dad the send off he deserved. The service they gave all the way through was excellent, guiding us through the whole process with the empathy & support to make it as painless as possible. Informing us of all the options available but also advising us when they thought it was for our best interest. The same excellent service was provided by the florist, Pastor & venue with whom they recommended & worked with to provide the whole package. Couldn’t have wished for better.

    John, Donna and the team at A Slater & Sons have all been wonderful in their support for the family during such a sad time, when Dad passed away unexpectedly.  They have been amazing in helping the family navigate the funeral arrangements, and organising such a beautiful and fitting service to say goodbye. Nothing is too much trouble, from looking after Dad (and us) and managing all the arrangements so beautifully and with such respect and dignity, it really was so comforting during such an awful time.
