Mr John Shiels was extremely keen to help in any way possible, give me the advice I needed to help with the funeral arrangements for my wife.very courteous and thoughtful throughout the few weeks prior to the funera.I would like to thank Mr Shiels and all the staff for the support that they gave me and my family. This is always a devastating time for families.
No one is ever prepared for this!

What you do need, as a family - is : Professional knowledge, together with kindness, compassion, and empathy with the added guidance to steer you through this very difficult situation.

It takes a very dedicated group of professionals ,to balance the high emotions of the family, and juggle this with the formalities and information needed; for the funeral to work like clockwork!

This certainly made all the difference to us, as a family.
Everything was already organised and in place; exactly where it was supposed to be , at exactly the right time.

Everyone we have spoken to has always been engaging,empathetic, and truly professional; we couldn't have asked for anything more; supporting, us as a family while organising our dad's funeral.

The care and support we received was excellent. Every query was answered with compassion and clarity and nothing was too much trouble. We have a funeral plan in place for my mum too and I feel reassured that the Armthorpe branch of the Co-op Funeral Care will once again help me through it when that time comes. From first contact onwards, Co-op funeral care has provided a consistent and coherent service throughout. They have offered guidance and suggestions with no pressure to act immediately. The back up service such as guidance on probate came unasked for but very welcome. It was as though they had thought of everything. The contact at Armthorpe was most helpful from the outset. her manner was excellent and friendly. This was what enabled us to proceed through the funeral arrangements. The celebrant was also most helpful, giving us full editorial control over the service, so that it was a true reflection of our dear friend with no unnecessary sentiment but rather a proper celebration of her life. Most attendees commented on how good and true a service it was. In the crematorium the staff handled everything beautifully so that no one was left out and we were all guided throughout. The webcast was a great addition and has provided distant friends and family a chance to say farewell. What could be better? Nothing. Thank you so much.
