To whom it may concern,

From the initial meeting with Toni at Walter Johnston in Erskine through to the funeral of my mum, every little detail was dealt with, with absolute professionalism and of equal importance, with great compassion.

As I write, it has come to mind that the carer at Ailsa Lodge, where my mum lived, was most fulsome in her praise of the highly dignified manner that my mum was treated when she was moved from the care home by the couple who arrived from Walter Johnstone.

The meetings and phone calls, the assurance and reassurance from Toni in the office brought great comfort in the weeks leading to the funeral. All details were attended to and explained in a most calming and yet highly efficient way. Toni, ensured that my mum’s presentation for my final visit to see her, the day before her funeral, was one that brought and will always continue to bring comfort in the future. She made her look beautiful and this image will always be with me. My wife and I were very grateful. Toni was highly impressive in all that she did.

I was contacted by Karen, who was responsible for overseeing the actual day and the implementation of what was to happen on the day.

Yet another employee of Walter Johnstone who displayed the same level of professionalism, equalled by compassion.

The respect shown to my mum on the day was very moving. From the carrying of my mum to the hearse, the bowing towards her coffin, the leading of the hearse from the church, the route and slowing down as we passed Ailsa Lodge, the gentle keeping of me right in terms of time, was all exceptional. Like Toni, Karen was highly impressive in her role and I felt very reassured and gently guided through the morning.

I will always be very grateful to both the people who I directly dealt with as well as the others who played their part without me speaking with them, for all that they did to make my mum’s funeral one that I can look back upon and know that she was treated with the greatest of care.

Toni was fantastic throughout the whole process. A very sensitive approach and made the whole process a lot more comfortable. Toni was always happy to help no matter how many times I called with questions. All the staff even on the day of the funeral were so welcoming and friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. I would highly recommend using Walter Johnston and sons.
