Completion of necessary paperwork
Transfer of deceased into our care at any time of the day or night within a 15 mile radius of our premises
Care of the deceased
A simple coffin suitable for burial or cremation
Provision of a simple cream dressing gown
Provision of a Hearse
Provision of a conductor and up to three members of staff to convey the coffin into the place of service using a wheeled bier, or to assist family bearers
Collection of cremated remains from the crematorium and retention on our premises prior to collection by our client
Date and time of the funeral at our discretion
Preparation of deceased (excluding embalming) and provision of viewing facilities if appropriate

When my Dad died it was very comforting to be able to turn to the Gillott's team to support our family through the process of arranging his funeral. From the first phone call arranging Dad's collection, we felt confident in the family ethos and professionalism of the company. We were guided through an unexpected post-mortem with reassurance and compassion. On the day of the funeral, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the service and the personal touches available to us that made this special and memorable despite Covid restrictions. The cars and the flowers were stunning and the staff were immensely kind. My teenage children remarked that they would like to be able to do something as beautiful for us in their time and I completely understand. This left us with something beautiful to remember. The service was beyond our expectations and the staff went above board to make it such a memorable event. It was all personal to us and thos could be felt from all the efforts put into incorporating our cultural and spiritual needs for mom. About Us

Tracing their origin back to 1867, Gillotts Funeral Directors are an independent family funeral director in Heanor. They offer caring and compassionate funeral services to families in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, although they are also happy to conduct funerals further afield if requested.

The origins of the Heanor funeral home go back to the Second World War, when Ernest Brewin started a joiner's workshop and undertakers - at that time a common combination - on Abbott Street. His nephew Jack Gillott later bought the business from his uncle, and the business became Gillotts Funeral Service. Jack's son-in-law Anthony Topley joined him in the business, and in 1992 when Jack retired, the business merged with Eastwood & District Funeral Service, and Anthony became part of the newly formed partnership.

The team at the Heanor funeral home consists of funeral directors Anthony Topley and Helen Ellis, and Funeral Administrator Amanda Outram, who all have years of experience and will be on hand to guide you through every step of the funeral arrangement.

Gillotts Funeral Directors has its own fleet of modern and reliable Jaguar hearses and limousines, ensuring that you can travel with dignity and comfort to the funeral.
