I am overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone connected with providing my mother with her wonderful send off. She would have been so pleased - only pity was that she was not there to see. The staff especially Tracey were exceptional and showed me so much kindness.
Opened on 19th April 2021 Half Crown House on Derby Road is run by funeral arranger Tracey Sweeting-Rowe.
The new funeral home was originally an old bank and was ideal ‘blank canvas’ for a funeral home. It is now fully equipped with two chapels, onsite car park and an extended mortuary. The move follows the need for more space and easy customer access.
The fifth-generation family business first arrived in Stapleford in 2003 as part of the group purchase of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Group, taking over six funeral homes. Previously located at Parker House on Church Street, the company has since gone above and beyond to help local families through every step of the funeral process, offering support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The office is open Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm, but can be opened after office hours by appointment or you can speak with a funeral director 24 hours a day by calling the telephone number.
The branch serves all of Stapleford and its surrounding area including Bramcote, Chilwell, Sandiacre, Trowell and further afield.

We had excellent service both before and during the day of the funeral. They couldn't do enough for us to make sure everything was arranged and totally worry free for us all.
On the day of the funeral everything ran extremely smoothly and we would like to make a special mention to Julie for how professional and caring she was to us all.

The only thing I could comment on is that the pall bearers were different heights which made it look a little awkward. Other than that everything was perfect and could not have gone any better.

All round a very professional job. We were a bit disappointed that there was a cost to visit my father prior to the funeral, but as it turned out my sisters and mother didn't want to visit in the end.
Please pass the families thanks to Tracey and especially Richard Marshall for the excellent eulogy he performed at the service.

We are sorry that you felt a little disappointed about the additional amount we charge to visit a loved one before the funeral, but our reason for this is that we do not want families to pay for services that they do not require so rather than pricing our funerals as packages we only charge for each element that is selected and do not charge for any that are not required. I hope this helps to clarify the matter and thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain.

All the staff have been very attentive, and professional at all times. Everything they did was checked by us before they did it so we knew what was happening, what would be said and how things would work on the day. Tracey really looked after us and Terry and Richard gave a good service which everyone has said they really enjoyed. Julia did an amazing job on the day of directing and coordinating the funeral.

Just would like to say it was an absolute pleasure under difficult circumstances to organise with Tracey my fathers funeral and her reassurance knowledge and organisation was second to none
The gentleman who collected my fathers body following his death at home were professional and polite to my mother at that difficult time

We had excellent service from A W Lymn for our mums funeral, everything went smoothly from beginning to end. All of the staff we dealt with were compassionate and caring and nothing was too much trouble. We had used A W Lymn for our fathers funeral 15 years ago so they were the obvious choice for mum.

Outstanding service by Lymms. Initial visit to Lesley at Long Eaton (before my Uncle had passed) made me feel that we were in safe hands. Later visit by Jane to our home to run through everything with lots of advice and guidance. We then transferred all the arrangements to Tracy at Stapleford to “fine tune” everything. A really handy tip by Tracey to take the Coffin Flowers to the Wake, then when everyone left they took small sprays/bouquets with them. A wonderful thought which went down so well with all the Guests. The British Legion was involved and we also had a Piper and Vintage Singer - Lymms were able to able to accommodate and work with everything we asked for.
I cannot fault the service we received in every aspect. Thank you to the whole Team at Lynms. Jane Phillips
