Opened on 19th April 2021 Half Crown House on Derby Road is run by funeral arranger Tracey Sweeting-Rowe.
The new funeral home was originally an old bank and was ideal ‘blank canvas’ for a funeral home. It is now fully equipped with two chapels, onsite car park and an extended mortuary. The move follows the need for more space and easy customer access.
The fifth-generation family business first arrived in Stapleford in 2003 as part of the group purchase of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Group, taking over six funeral homes. Previously located at Parker House on Church Street, the company has since gone above and beyond to help local families through every step of the funeral process, offering support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The office is open Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm, but can be opened after office hours by appointment or you can speak with a funeral director 24 hours a day by calling the telephone number.
The branch serves all of Stapleford and its surrounding area including Bramcote, Chilwell, Sandiacre, Trowell and further afield.
Nigel Lymn Rose, former president of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), along with his sister Jackie and son Matthew, manage A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service.

Tracy did an excellent job guiding us through the process and Kevin delivered a seamless and highly professional directorship on the day. From the initial telephone conversation, subsequent office meetings and mums funeral all the staff have been absolutely amazing.
Their care, professionalism, compassion and empathy during an upsetting and emotional time are second to none. They really looked after us exceptionally well and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to you all for making something so sad and emotional a stress free and non complicated process.

The care and attention to the details of what we wanted for our dearest Pete has been remarkable, there was nothing that this team would not do to make his memories special from the music to the Silver Land Rover. They are the best and as someone who organises Events and quite Picky that says a lot.

Tracey at the Stapleford Branch of which has looked after my Brother has been more than excellent. Tracey has gone the extra mile in caring for Richard and throughout the process from day one has been caring, supportive and understanding towards my whole family. In the current climates of UK Law, I could not have asked for a more personal and caring company to accommodate us.
AW Lymn have been wonderful throughout and even now are continuing to be supportive.
I personally feel Tracey deserves a lot of recognition for her work. She is a great asset to the company, I personally will never forget Tracey for the way she has cared for me, my family and my brother.
