Radcliffe Lymns provided an outstanding service that was very personable and considerate of our family wishes. They made the arranging of my dad’s funeral a seamless process and showed wonderful empathy. I would highly recommend them, especially Ed and Emma who we cannot thank enough.
Fred Beeson established a funeral service in Radcliffe on Trent in 1937 and moved to a purpose built funeral home in 1961. The business was incorporated into the A W Lymn group in 1994 and still remains at the same location. The premises underwent a major refurbishment in 2020.
The funeral home is run by Funeral Arranger Emma Hutton, who will be able to assist you Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12.30 pm. If you need assistance outside of office hours then please call the telephone number at any time.
The funeral home covers Radcliffe and all its surrounding areas, including Barnstone, Bingham, Caythorpe, Colston Bassett, Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, East Bridgford, Granby, Gunthorpe, Harby, Hickling, Kinoulton, Langar, Long Clawson, Lowdham, Owthorpe, Plungar, Shelford, Tythby, Upper Saxondale and further afield.
The Rose family has a connection with Radcliffe dating over 100 years. A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service is currently run by Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose.

From the very beginning we were looked after and guided through the whole process of planning and implementing a funeral which reflected our mum/grandmother's wishes. Emma our funeral planner was brilliant and so kind and patient...especially when our plans kept having to change owing to various elements of our family abroad travel plans were changing! It was a comfort to know that everything was in order and we didn't have to worry about anything not happening as we had planned.

Myself and my husband would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks for the love and kindness shown by Lymn’s on the passing of my mother in law.
From the moment we made contact nothing was too much trouble.
Dominic Lister was the funeral director for my late father in law 12 years ago and seemed only right to ask for him again. Without hesitation he agreed. This guy is a true gentleman and a credit to your business.
The care and love even given to my mother in law, being dressed in her own clothes and putting her hair in the scrunchie as she didn’t like it in her eyes. They made sure her hair was at the back as not to make her uncomfortable. This was just lovely thank you.❤️
Finally Emma at Radcliffe what can we say. Just amazing. Caring for Johanna at Radcliffe and looking after us when we come to visit her in the chapel of rest. Always on hand throughout for a hug.

We sadly lost our Dad at the end of last year and when to see Emma at AW Lymn from the first meeting to the funeral itself we knew we had made the right choice, Emma was fantastic and extremely helpful, giving us all the information we neede to make the right choices, she was compassionate and extremely helpful, offering support with all we needed to do. We were promised that the music for my mother's funeral would be either plugged into the church sound system or played on Lymn's own speakers so that it would be "nice and loud" to accompany the hymn singing. This was not the case. The congregation could not hear the music so, in the main just stood in silence throughout the two hymns, wondering what was happening.
At such a difficult time a family just wants their loved one to be treated with respect and dignity. Friends and relatives want their departed to have the service that they would have wanted. This should have been a celebration of my mother's life and her love of hymn signing.
It is very upsetting that Lymn's performance was so poor on this occasion.

Dear Mr. Pentreath, We are sorry that the music played at Church was not as you had wished. In order to enable the funeral on the date you requested we unusually covered all of the hymns at St Mary’s with our portable music system, as the organist was unavailable and you did not want to look at an alternative date. The Funeral Director and Usher have both commented that the music system worked as expected, so we really are sorry that you and they recall such a different version of events to. We trust that the rest of the service offered by Emma, Louise and our team was to the standard you would have expected, and that the funeral in Penzance went well. It is disappointing to receive a two star review, and to read your comments about failing to show respect and dignity to your late Mother, when having now spoken with you it is confirmed the only issue was with the volume of the music in church. Thank you.
