This company and its staff are absolutely wonderful from the first visit to looking after mum in the chapel of rest and then finally arranging all our funeral plans it was supportive kind friendly and everything my sister and I could have hoped for . The venture although in the centre of Nottingham is accessible and plenty of parking . The service and attention to detail was exemplary

Absolutely superb Funeral service I would like to thank all staff at Nottingham for their kind caring compassionate understanding in our time of loss of our wonderful adorable mother Shirley Gilbert. Nothing was ever to much the staff were always on hand with their advice and truly comforting words. I wish to make special mention of Kevin Brown from start to finish he guided me and was an absolutely wonderful human being. I would also wish to say thank you to Lucinda on Reception, who greeted me regularly with kind words understanding and a reassuring voice. My mother's funeral service was conducted impeccably by Kevin and all the staff. Many Thanks to Father liam for carrying out a lovely service instructed by AW lymn on behalf of ourselves an excellent choice. I finally wish to pay to tribute to AW lymn God bless all the team Kindest thoughts Conrad

Lymms provided my Father, Sister, and me a service that was filled with empathy, compassion and patience. A truly individual service that ensured that my mum had everything she wanted, and a send off that was befitting of such an amazing and wonderfully inspirational woman. Philip was the consummate professional and always available to answer any queries and provide the support that we needed from ensuring the chapel of rest was available for relatives arriving from overseas to the release of doves and provision of additional orders of service post the service. Thank you.
Although A W Lymn's head office moved to Robin Hood House on Robin Hood Street in 1977, many people in the area still refer to this office as "Lymn's on Bath Street".
The head office, built by fourth generation George Rose in the late 1970's, has several in-house funeral directors to help families with their funeral needs, and also houses most of the company's administration staff.
The funeral home is staffed by funeral directors Kevin Browne and Philip Wilson, funeral arranger Megans Rosier and Luke Mellor, and receptionist Lucinda Pallett.
The opening times are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm. Staff are also available to meet with you after office hours. Please call the telephone number at any time to arrange a convenient appointment.
Besides the administration and reception area, the premises have a coffin showroom, family rooms, visiting rooms, cold room facilities, a full fleet of hearses and limousines, a vintage fleet, stone masonry services and a florist.
A.W. Lymn's head office serves all of Nottingham city centre and its surrounding areas including Bobbers Mill, Colwick, Hyson Green, Mapperley, Radford, Sherwood, Sneinton, St. Ann's, The Meadows and beyond.
A W Lymn is owned and managed by the Lymn Rose family. Nigel Lymn Rose, one of the company's directors, was president of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) during its centenary year in 2005.

Lynn Nottinghman has been our family funeral service for decades now. My sister's funeral was on Friday 26th January 2024, and I can say we were served well by Lymn we don't expect any thing less than the service we have already received from Lynn.

My family have always dealt with Lymns, and although I was slightly shocked by the new ‘all singing, all dancing’ brochure that seemed more appropriate to a car showroom than a funeral director, I appreciate that some people have more complex requirements than me. In any event, Kevin was more than happy to arrange the simple service that I requested and, I’m sure, gave the same level of attention to me that he would’ve done had I been spending considerably more money. On the day, Jackie was professional and attentive as always and the celebrant that they recommended delivered exactly the type of service I had in mind. I always feel safe with Lymns and would never go elsewhere.

I was gently guided through the process by such lovely, caring people. Everything was explained clearly and nothing was too much trouble. The care they took with my mother’s appearance was considered and thoughtful, thus making our very final goodbyes a good memory. They ensured that everything went smoothly on the day of her cremation. I heartily thank them for steering me through this difficult time.

Second time we have used Lymns in two years. If you require a personal touch throughout look no further than Lymns.If your fortunate enough to have Phillip Wilson with you on the day his attitude work ethic and attention to detail is exemptional. Not the cheapest but the best. I would recommend Lymns without hesitation for all your funeral needs. A 5 star service.

Losing my 4 year old son has been the hardest things I've been through in my life. I didn't even know where to start however Lucinda and the staff at A J Lymns helped me every step of the way. They explained everything in simple terms for me to understand and also offered all the added extras which made it super special without costing too much. We managed to find an amazing celebrant Lisa who was matched with us and delivered an amazing service. The team on the day were organised and caring. The cars were beautiful. They even wore pink as it was my sons favourite colour. Big shout out to Lucinda (I could not have got through without you) and Jackie who led our son to the crematorium and was professional yet empathetic. Thank you so much for everything. The hand and foot prints and hair was a lovely touch in remembrance of our son. They arranged everything with ease. The order of service turned out just perfect and everything felt so personal like they were part of our family and they did the absolute best for our boy. Thank you so much.
