Although A W Lymn's head office moved to Robin Hood House on Robin Hood Street in 1977, many people in the area still refer to this office as "Lymn's on Bath Street".
The head office, built by fourth generation George Rose in the late 1970's, has several in-house funeral directors to help families with their funeral needs, and also houses most of the company's administration staff.
The funeral home is staffed by funeral directors Kevin Browne and Philip Wilson, funeral arranger Megans Rosier and Luke Mellor, and receptionist Lucinda Pallett.
The opening times are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm. Staff are also available to meet with you after office hours. Please call the telephone number at any time to arrange a convenient appointment.
Besides the administration and reception area, the premises have a coffin showroom, family rooms, visiting rooms, cold room facilities, a full fleet of hearses and limousines, a vintage fleet, stone masonry services and a florist.
A.W. Lymn's head office serves all of Nottingham city centre and its surrounding areas including Bobbers Mill, Colwick, Hyson Green, Mapperley, Radford, Sherwood, Sneinton, St. Ann's, The Meadows and beyond.
A W Lymn is owned and managed by the Lymn Rose family. Nigel Lymn Rose, one of the company's directors, was president of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) during its centenary year in 2005.

Vicky. Thank you very much for your kind response. As you know Johnâs relationship with our family business goes back nearly fifty years. He was, throughout most of his working life, a loyal and much loved colleague and friend of the people we serve in the local community. I thought that the letter that he wrote for all the family that was read at the funeral was so moving. In so many ways Johnâs life touched others when they were at their lowest ebb and for the help, support, care and friendship he gave in those situations he will always be remembered with such high regard. From start to finish the service was outstanding, Emily made us feel very comfortable when we first visited. We came to be chapel of rest and we was all amazed at how well you made Gordon look. My grandad would of been so proud. Can't thank you all enough.

From the initial phone call, through the planning of the funeral, the funeral service and to the scattering of the ashes, the guidance, support and advice we received was excellent. This ensured we were able to arrange the funeral that was tailored to our needs and perfect for us.
Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were sensitive and courteous, there to attend to our every need, but also aware of when to stand back and give us the space we needed.
I cannot thank them enough for all they did to make such a difficult time easier to bear.

Being a close member of the family, and having managed the Bingham office of our family firm for many years prior to his retirement, Derekâs funeral was inevitably going to be a very emotional and difficult time for us all. I am very sorry that because I was out of the country I was unable to be of practical support on the day of the funeral but I know that our Sister Jackie and all our family and staff worked hard to ensure that Derekâs wishes were carried out in an exacting professional and yet comforting and supporting manner. I also know that Canon Alan Haydock was an immense help and that Pearl and all those at the Plough in Wysall made the after funeral reception very special. A W Lymn carried out my mother's personal wishes for her funeral with great sensitivity, professionalism, kindness and care. They spent considerable time with her before she died, planning and recording exactly what she would like as and when the time came.
They made what is obviously a very difficult time for all the family much easier and less stressful by their attention to detail, thought and patience, which was always combined with a quiet and reassuring efficiency.
Every member of staff displayed the same thoughtful, kind, professional approach whenever we had dealings with them, and we thank them all.
I would not hesitate to recommend the services of this family-owned and run firm.

From going into Lymns and organising a pre-payment funeral with them for my mother in August 2015 to the date of her funeral on 9 March 2017. The whole experience and process was made so much easier for choosing Lymns. They were very professional and courteous throughout the process, making sure every little fine details was taken care of. Everyone who was there on the day said how beautiful it was prepared by Lymns, down to the Order of Service and the Rememberance cards. They made sure that the orange roses for my mum's coffin were the exact colour I wanted. Thank you to all the team involved with looking after my mother and her funeral.

I cannot compliment or thank Julia and the rest of the Lymn's team enough. My mum's funeral was handled professionally and sympathetically from start to finish. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate any changes/additions we wanted to make, sometimes at very short notice, was superb and contributed to a very special and memorable day for all the family.
