Myself and my family cannot speak highly enough of Lymns. From the minute we initially spoke, they were incredibly comforting at what was a very difficult time and that comfort and sensitivity was present throughout. Mark, Kevin & Jess were who we spoke to regularly & they were simply wonderful. Thank you for giving our Nan/wife/mother Sheila the celebration of life she truly deserved.
G. Harrod and Sons was purchased by the A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in October 1994 and moved from their original building on Church Street to a purpose designed larger office, also on Church Street on 2nd January 2018.
Harrod House features two ample visiting rooms, a family room, a large reception area and cold room facilities. The office has a large private car park with a disabled parking space.
Mark Ridout is the senior funeral director for the area and is assisted by funeral director Paul Richardson and funeral arranger Emma Hemstock.
Opening times are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral home can open after hours if you call our telephone number and make an appointment – the phone lines are available 24 hours a day, every day.
This office covers all of Carlton and its surrounding area, including Bakersfield, Bulcote, Burton Joyce, Caythorpe, Colwick, Gedling, Lowdham, Mapperley, Netherfield, Sneinton, St Ann’s and beyond.
The Lymn Rose family has managed the business since its establishment in 1907. Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are directors of the company.

From the first minute we spoke to the office, they have shown great care and compassion for our late mum, and towards us. They have made things easier for us, when we were in the turmoil of losing mum. They asked the right questions, made suggestions where possible and facilitated everything for us.
