G. Harrod and Sons was purchased by the A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in October 1994 and moved from their original building on Church Street to a purpose designed larger office, also on Church Street on 2nd January 2018.
Harrod House features two ample visiting rooms, a family room, a large reception area and cold room facilities. The office has a large private car park with a disabled parking space.
Mark Ridout is the senior funeral director for the area and is assisted by funeral director Paul Richardson and funeral arranger Emma Hemstock.
Opening times are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral home can open after hours if you call our telephone number and make an appointment – the phone lines are available 24 hours a day, every day.
This office covers all of Carlton and its surrounding area, including Bakersfield, Bulcote, Burton Joyce, Caythorpe, Colwick, Gedling, Lowdham, Mapperley, Netherfield, Sneinton, St Ann’s and beyond.
The Lymn Rose family has managed the business since its establishment in 1907. Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are directors of the company.

Mark from Carlton Branch was fantastic, mark had been to see my husband at home as he was terminally poorly, Mark is one of the nicest people you can meet and all of my husbands wishes for his funeral we’re completed.
Mark kept me up to date throughout from the final plans to the day of the service and after .
Most of my family have known Mark from the many funerals they have been to , and everyone says the same he’s such a lovely guy .
My husband was keen to have Mark over see his funeral which was fantastic as Mark did Just that and more he made it feel more personal and he shows a real care for the deceased.
Emma was also amazing if I couldn’t speak to Mark she kept me up dated.

Once again Mark was amazing , my husband was only 42 but the care and compassion showed to us at an awful time was made a little easier by Mark , it was a big funeral with lots of little extra bits that my husband requested but nothing was too much trouble.

A.W.Lymn based at Carlton have been so supportive and helpful throughout all of the arrangements for my husband's funeral
From the initial phone call to arrange going in to speak to them, to the funeral itself, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff if I needed help or advice
They kept me informed about everything and were always courteous and kind.
The funeral was carried out with care and dignity.
Paul, who led the funeral for us, I cannot speak highly enough of. He was always approachable when I needed help or advice on anything, and he is so kind.
All of the staff were so discreet in their presence but also highly professional.
At a very difficult time, I was helped by the staff at Carlton and I cannot thank them enough for making such a sad event bearable. I am so grateful of the help you gave me to make my husband's funeral such a loving tribute for him, it was exactly what I wanted for him.
