G. Harrod and Sons was purchased by the A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in October 1994 and moved from their original building on Church Street to a purpose designed larger office, also on Church Street on 2nd January 2018.
Harrod House features two ample visiting rooms, a family room, a large reception area and cold room facilities. The office has a large private car park with a disabled parking space.
Mark Ridout is the senior funeral director for the area and is assisted by funeral director Paul Richardson and funeral arranger Emma Hemstock.
Opening times are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral home can open after hours if you call our telephone number and make an appointment – the phone lines are available 24 hours a day, every day.
This office covers all of Carlton and its surrounding area, including Bakersfield, Bulcote, Burton Joyce, Caythorpe, Colwick, Gedling, Lowdham, Mapperley, Netherfield, Sneinton, St Ann’s and beyond.
The Lymn Rose family has managed the business since its establishment in 1907. Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are directors of the company.

Having done both funerals for mum and dad all with in 5 months we as a family are absolutely overwhelmed by the service provided by Mark and the staff at Carlton . Amazing from start to finish. Nothing was too much bother and the staff were just superb during such a very sad time for my family they made it more bearable. A wonderful professional service. I have never dealt with funeral directors but the personal service, kindness and patience shown to me and my family eased somewhat the grief we all feel. they were thoroughtful and showed great commitment. Nothing was no trouble, even with last minute requests. On the day, the team were so accommodating and helpful, and everything so was professional.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help and guidance since my mum sadly died.
