G. Harrod and Sons was purchased by the A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in October 1994 and moved from their original building on Church Street to a purpose designed larger office, also on Church Street on 2nd January 2018.
Harrod House features two ample visiting rooms, a family room, a large reception area and cold room facilities. The office has a large private car park with a disabled parking space.
Mark Ridout is the senior funeral director for the area and is assisted by funeral director Paul Richardson and funeral arranger Emma Hemstock.
Opening times are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral home can open after hours if you call our telephone number and make an appointment – the phone lines are available 24 hours a day, every day.
This office covers all of Carlton and its surrounding area, including Bakersfield, Bulcote, Burton Joyce, Caythorpe, Colwick, Gedling, Lowdham, Mapperley, Netherfield, Sneinton, St Ann’s and beyond.
The Lymn Rose family has managed the business since its establishment in 1907. Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are directors of the company.

MANY THANKS TO MARK & HIS TEAM, EMMA & PAUL. FROM THE MOMENT MARK ARRIVED TO PICK MY MOTHER UP AFTER PASSING AWAY AT HOME, HE WAS VERY CARING, COMPASSIONATE & TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL. EVERY DETAIL ABOUT THE FUNERAL WAS CHECKED & DOUBLE CHECKED WITH ME. MARK WENT ABOVE & BEYOND WHEN HE ARRANGED FOR THE HURST & 3 CARS TO REVERSE UP A DEAD END STREET SO WE COULD LEAVE FROM MUM'S HOME. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE. This is our 3rd funeral with Lymns, chosen because of the care and compassion shown. We were able to make contact whenever we needed to. The way Peter was handled was with the utmost care and respect. We could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to our wonderful husband and father. It was the little touches suggested that we had not thought of that made it all the more memorable and special for us. Special thanks to Emma and Paul for their professionalism and care for me under extremely challenging circumstances.

It was a beautiful day, with wonderful people looking after us. Because being in a wheelchair was extremely worrying but it was amazing care that I had and my 86year old mum was treated the same.
I would also like to mention Keith Brown for such an amazing service for my Husband Gary Brooks.
