Started by Andy Askew in the early 1990’s, this funeral home was incorporated into the A W Lymn group in September 2004.
Andy has remained as a funeral director at A W Lymn and has conducted many of the funerals in Shirebrook, becoming very well known in the community. Nowadays, Andy is based in our Mansfield Woodhouse branch, so Jackie Potter currently arranges most funerals at Shirebrook.
Jackie can assist you Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and also in after-office hours by appointment.
The branch features private parking, visiting rooms, a reception area, family rooms and cold room facilities.
The office covers all of Shirebrook and its surrounding areas including Berry Hill, Blidworth, Church Warsop, Clipstone, Forest Town, Harlow Wood, Ladybrook, Mansfield, Pleasley, Rainworth, Ravenshead, Warsop, Warsop Vale and beyond.
Matthew, Jackie and Nigel Lymn Rose currently manage A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service.

Mum and dad bought policy's in excess of 30 years prior to their deaths but even so Jackie took seconds to pull out the relevant paperwork and was all mostly pre planned and only a token amount left to play and plan.the funeral went exactly to plan and the viewing of mum in the chapel of rest was very respectful and mum was perticuarly laid out well apparently they have new morticians whom should be commended as mum looked better than she did than when she was alive!.
All in all a great service and worthwhile the investment, to take the pain of planning such an event.

The policies taken out more than 30 years prior to the deaths worked well for your family. The relevant paperwork is kept in files, so it is easily accessible in the office. We are happy the funeral went exactly to plan and the viewing of your late mum in the chapel of rest was as respectful as it could be. The morticians will be commended.
We are happy you found it was a worthwhile investment, to take out a pre-paid funeral plan. Thank you, Jackie

The standard of care Lymn shown our family was exceptionally.
Our mum was dressed beautifully and was shown great dignity. Jackie was amazing from the very start to collecting mums ashes.

Lovely from the off set, caring courteous throughout from the 1st meeting to the funeral itself. There was a little confusion is respect to carrying the coffin and the funeral director seemed a little miffed when I spoke with him but other than that I cannot fault the service

It was purely that I was caught off guard as I did not have the information about this in front of me at the time of making the call, and certainly was not a problem to me as we would always accommodate a family’s wishes in this and other regards.
