From start to finish the co-op gave a brilliant service and I would highly recommend them. At this sad time of bereavement the whole team that we met were compassionate, understanding and guided us through the process without any problems.

I cannot praise highly enough the support we have received a family from Chris Phillips from Blyth Funeralcare.  This was the first time I had arranged a funeral and it was a daunting thought as I did not know what to do or what to expect when arranging the funeral for my beloved Father William Robert Barber.  However, I need not to have worried, because Chris was a pillar of support and strength.  During the funeral planning, Chris talked the family through the steps we had to take and all the options which were available.  All of which was done in a calm, informative and patient manner.  Chris then made daily telephone calls to myself, ensuring I was clear with what had to be done, and offered any support, and at the start of each telephone call, he asked after myself and the family, which showed an enormous level of support and compassion. This was an extremely difficult time for the whole family, but Chris made the whole process seamless and we cannot thank him enough for the care and compassion he showed.  The funeral was flawless and it was carried out with grace and would have been exactly what my Dad would have wanted.  Thank you.

From the very first contact with Co-op Funeralcare both in the Blyth branch and especially Lisa from the Cramlington branch, who was with us on the day of my Mam’s funeral, I couldn’t have wished for a more excellent service. Their kindness and thoughtfulness meant so much to me and my sister during such a sad time and the way in which they had taken care of my Mam was so touching. I couldn’t have hoped for a more beautiful send off for her.

We were not informed that Jennifer had been collected from Rake Lane (14/12/2023)and was in your care. We had to call in to Blyth office 5 days (18/12/2023)after she was collected to see where she was and if any Cremation details were available. Only then did we get to know that she had been collected and the Cremation had been arranged for the following Wednesday (20/12/2023). We were told her ashes would be available for collection 24 - 48 hours after cremation. We had no contact from your office. I ended up having to ring the on call service on the Saturday (23/12/2023) only to be told the Ashes were still at the place of Cremation, which meant that our daughters ashes spent the Christmas period out in the middle of no-where instead of being at home with us. We eventually received a call one week after the Cremation had taken place to tell us the Ashes were available for collection. So, all in all, not a good experience. I only hope others are treated with more respect.

From initial contact right through to the funeral we were kept fully informed in the planning, arrangements and conduct of the funeral at St Bede's and cremation at Cowpen cemetery.
Thanks especially to Lisa who did most of the organisation and getting things booked and in place inline with our wishes.
And on the day to Gary and his team for their professional conduct, advice and support.
