The day of my mothers cremation was expertly organised and went without a hitch. The rev Ted Hale was excellent. The next day when we buried her ashes with my father some 50 miles away did not go as smoothly. The vicar had little knowledge of us and did not know that the grave was that of her first husband and not her second. The grave digger did not have the paperwork (despite Kevin having sent it previously). These shortcomings were not the fault of Kevin Matthews.

The time between the death of a loved one and the funeral is always very difficult, so I imagine that any funeral director who does an half decent job is likely to get a good review. However, I do not give 'excellent' on surveys without good reason.
My own difficult time was exacerbated by my determination to meet my wife's limited but clearly expressed wishes for her funeral. These should not have been hard to achieve, but local factors outside my funeral director's control meant that my difficult time had the potential to be almost unbearable.
This is where Kevin Matthews and his team not only stepped up to the mark, but went well beyond this and really went the extra mile.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for Kevin, Julie, Nikki and the rest of the staff, who gave me fantastic help, support and understanding. Nothing was too much trouble - easily and often said, but actually what they had to do was very complicated and carried out with superb skill and sensitivity.
Kevin and his team procured exactly what I asked for - two beautiful, pristine white horses and a white carriage from a top company in London, brilliant attention to detail, and a fantastic, personable relationship with me from day one. Communications were clear, timely and helpful, without being overbearing. All in the face of complications which neither he nor I should have had to face.
My wife's funeral has been described as 'an emotional, beautiful and fitting tribute'. One lady said: 'What a huge effort you and the girls made to give Judith such an amazing send off...I hope i'm loved enough when my time comes that someone does the same for me.'
I could not have done this without Kevin Matthews Funeral Service, and I am so grateful to the friend who said to me: "You really ought to consider Kevin Matthews. He will really look after you, is a genuinely nice guy - and by the way is very reasonable in terms of cost."
My advisor was proved 100 per cent correct. And my wife got what she wanted.

We found the service from Kevin & his team was exceptional. Under very sad circumstances having lost our Father only 3 months previous (Kevin also arranged my Fathers funeral) the funeral was arranged quickly & professionally. 
On the day of the funeral Kevin was very supportive.
Tracy Jones who conducted the ceremony put together a lovely personal tribute & fully supported the family during the planning & on the day.
We would highly recommend this company.
