The service we received from Co-op Funeralcare for my dad's service and committal was exceptional. Always proactive, attentive, sensitive and supportive. Nothing we asked ever seemed to be any trouble and the day itself ran so smoothly it was the perfect day none of us wished we were at.

I was not wholly delighted to return from the funeral to receive “ The Standard” letter from the Co-op demanding payment of the bill – having paid in full ahead of the event,
the amount to pay was stated as ‘nil’.
It surely would not be beyond the wit of kind humans to check before they send out these?
Little doubt that that there is scant regard to personal service from the Co-op any longer .

The confusion on the 22nd ahead of the funeral was most distressing, although I commend Alison for her sympathetic handling at the time and
the clumsy handling of the coffin outside the Crematorium gave rise to concern to the assembled family and friends.

This was in addition to the messages left on my mobile and the most intrusive call from Co-op Services(?) which I had begun to think were scam calls.
Which, when queried on the 700506 number at weekend, led to speaking to a confused lady who resorted several times to insisting I wished to buy a funeral plan and
was unable to understand I was querying the validity of these calls. I still have had no return call to explain.


I am hoping to collect the ashes as soon as possible and have done with dealings with Skipton Co-op Funeral services.
