What can you say about people that are there to help you at some of the worst times in your like, apart from Thank You from the bottom of our hearts. They all made it so easy, were so helpful and understanding and couldn't do enough to help. What awesome people they were. Thanks again.

I am appalled with the service received for Jessie Currie's funeral. Jessie had a funeral plan that she purchased in the Wishaw branch. The service received there was excellent. Jessie chose and paid for a solid oak dark wood coffin the same as the one her sister Elizabeth had. However, the coffin she was brought to the church in on the morning of her funeral bore no resemblance to what she had paid for. To date there has been no discussion with me or explanation as to why the coffin Jessie chose was not provided. The coffin provided was a very modest coffin that may be used for a low cost funeral or cremation. This was definitely not what Jessie wanted.

In addition to the above, a bespoke spray of blue flowers had been ordered to lay on top of the coffin. Again this was not provided. I received an email the day before the funeral advising that the florist had been on the phone saying that she had been asked for blue flowers to be woven through the spray. She advised that she did not have any blue flowers and wondered if I would prefer purple flowers or a blue ribbon. What I preferred was to have what I had asked for. I emailed back advising that we had requested a bespoke spray of blue flowers not blue flowers woven through the spray. I explained that it was important that the flowers were blue and asked for an explanation as to why what had asked for was not being provided. To date I have had no response. On the morning of the funeral I was shocked to see a spray of white lilies with a bit of blue ribbon. Again this was not what Jessie wanted. Jessie went to the co-op trusting that the funeral she had planned and paid for would be provided. However, the funeral she got was not what she had wanted.

I emailed the branch to advise of my disappointment. I received an email back advising that they were sorry that I felt that way and that my concerns had been passed to the manager. Jessie was buried on the 10-2-23 and to date I have had no contact from the Shotts branch in reply to the concerns raised. I find this totally unacceptable. I expected to be contacted with an explanation of why the plan Jessie had purchased had not been provided. I am totally disgusted and extremely upset that Jessie's wishes had not been respected.

That aside I believe in giving credit where it is due and would commend Declan and the team on the respectful and professional service they provided on the day.
