Thank you to Rebecca who was extremely supportive and professional at all times.

Rebecca was wonderful in her organization of my mother's funeral. Very kind and professional, and I have had several comments from my family that the funeral presentation was very well done.
Adam, and the coffin bearers were also very kind and professional and all of you made me feel as at ease as is possible at a difficult time like this.

I am so grateful for all the help Rebecca gave me in organising my son's funeral, she was so kind and helpful and answered all my endless questions with great patience.I have not had to organise a funeral before and really did not know where to start.Rebecca led me through all the things I had to do and the funeral itself went off without a hitch. All members of her team excelled themselves on the day.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Co-op to anyone needing a funeral company, and many of the guests attending Michael's funeral asked which funeral company had arranged the day. Thank you again to all who looked after me so well and the flowers were lovely as was the wicker basket coffin.

Excellent support and communication given by Rebecca at such a stressful and sad time

I highly recommend Co-op Funeral Care in Kentish Town. After a disappointingly unsympathetic meeting with Leverton's Funeral Home, I found Rebecca at the Co-op to be warm, caring, and extremely helpful. Rebecca really went out of her way to make planning my lovely husband's funeral as stress-free and perfect as possible. She sourced all the obscure music I wanted. She got the flowers which weren't in their brochure. I cannot imagine a better outcome. A special mention also to Kevin, the wonderful Funeral Director, who coped admirably with 13 cyclists following the hearse, in the pouring rain. Kevin's traffic control is impressive, and his caring support was much needed and well received.

Rebecca and Kevin from Kentish Town where both kind and caring and made sure everything we wanted was provided and everything went smoothly.

I'm not particularly good at things like this but would like to try my best to describe events as fairly as possible. In saying that, I would not use the co-op again or recommend their services to anyone who is looking to arrange a funeral.

My aunts funeral was paid in full about 2 years ago, with the hope that this would be an easier way to arrange a funeral, instead of having to rush round at the last minute, should the worst happen.

Initial contact with the branch was fine and the staff member I was talking to was very polite and helpful. However communication and follow up emails regarding what was happening with my aunts body became quite sparse.

It wasn't until I emailed myself to find out if my aunts body had been released, that I found out she hadn't been and that there was a form missing. This form was never sent to me in the first place (all correspondence has been done via email).

I recieved quite a helpful email to say that the Co op had fou d the form and it had been signed so my aunts body would be released, I was also told that the person handling her funeral would be on leave and that someone else would be I will be in contact with me.

I didn't hear from anyone. I tried to call the branch continuously and it always went through to the switch board. It was until I complained to the Co op in general, that I had a call from a different branch.

I was told my aunts body still hadn't been released, that there were paper work issues, that there was a back log of funerals and that people were on leave.

I fully understand that there is a backlog of funerals and that people are busy but for someone to pass in January, and to still have Jo concrete information on your aunts body less than a week before her funeral (March!) is appalling.

I also had not had any proper contact with the celebrant at this stage. Again something I found to be rushed to the point where I was unable to get order of services made or printed in time.

The day of the funeral we were running late as sadly someone ended their life at one of the tube stations. We communicated as much as we could with the driver who kindly waited 10 minutes before starting the funeral.

When we arrived we were told not to worry as we had only missed about 5 minutes. Upon entering, a song was played to allow me to get my breath back before talking, I was called up to give my eulogy, I sat down after finishing and... That was it. We had missed the entire service.

The problem I have, is that people who attended and people who watched online have told me, my husband and cousin that the service was very quick, rushed in fact and that had they had waited even 15 more minutes, we would have likely seen the who funeral.

I have requested the webcast to be released so I can time this myself. The reason for this is I had recieved an email stating the approximate length of service, which included myself talking, and one other person - who on the day did not talk and therefore shortened the time further.

We had requested to go up to the coffin at the end and was told we could, to then be told right at the end of the service we could not do that. But I have since been told we should have been allowed to. So we did not get to say goodbye.

I have another plan with the Co op for my grandmother's funeral and I will be requesting a refund after the issues I have had.

I've planned 3 funerals in my time, and all will have some form of hiccup, but generally speaking the funeral directors guide and support you through it.

I felt very alone in the process, very confused, very guilty that my aunt was left in a hospital freezer for over a month and the anxiety this has caused me throughout has been awful.

Covid has cause significant issues with back logs of funerals etc and I fully understand that, and I understand pressures then put on to the staff at Co op but, the reality is, that shouldn't be my or anyone else's concern when they are going through one of the hardest things a person can go through. And to have that repeatedly put as an excuse is really hard to hear, because it adds to your feelings of guilt for complaining about an issue you have every right to complain about.

I don't wish my experience on anyone.

We had a very difficult experience with the coop In Holloway and we decided to use a different branch of coop.
The staff at Kentish Town were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for Kevin and Rebecca!
They provided an outstanding service for our mum.

An excellent team helping us at a difficult time.

  • 4 Frank Lambie 29th Dec 2021

Admin was great so was the arrangements and staffing members. But handles on casket wasn’t screwed in as they supposed to be by securing each handle with one screw instead of 3, this cause a handle to come loose when carrying.

It's was an amazing services. Paul is a very good character, Rebecca is a very lovely, helpful lady. Thank you so much everything. 💖💖💖

  • 5 Patricia Easdon 26th Nov 2021

Could not have wished for a better service from you all.
We received all the help we needed and all done a compassionate and friendly way.

Rebecca was really helpful and put us at ease from the beginning to the end.

Richard and his team couldn't have been more helpful and didn't turn a hair at th
unusual funeral. You don't get many funerals where the mourners sing along with the choice of music we requested.
    Many thanks to you all.
