Overall not a great experience I'm not sure what they do for the vast amount of money you pay. A definite lack of empathy and too business like.
Firstly they chase the 50% initial payment on the day of the appointment to book the funeral. I had two emails within a few hours. I was then unable to pay as they had not added something to the online system. Then the system would not take my Dads card as payment and they do not take cheques ( They are a Bank! ) yet they pay suppliers with cheques. I finally managed to pay on my credit card. I had to challenge the final bill as it had jumped inexplicably from the quote. This was still £10.00 over the quoted and nothing changed but I really didn't have the energy to challenge again.
  They seem to have a policy of holding funerals within 21 days which coincidently is the payment terms 50% upfront the the balance in 21 days of invoice.Our funeral was 25 days which would have meant paying before the actual service.It was only because I challenged the bill that it was actually longer.
    We were offered a 20 minuet funeral as they tried to fit us in within the 21 days which was limited to 25 people.Sounded like a drive through funeral.The director had to leave the room several times to make calls to get us a date which seemed a little rude.
  I asked if they could arrange for a charity collection and they offered to collect cash & hand it over.I contacted the charity  myself and asked if they could do anything so I set up a Justgiving page & the charity arranged to deliver some donation envelopes to be sent to the funeral directors. The envelopes never turned up ( Lost in post )and I was told the day before obviously too late to get replacements.Something I feel should have been handled by the funeral director.
  We were unsure what to do with the flowers on the coffin but it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted them coming back in the car with us.I spoke to the funeral director the next day and said I would like them and would collect them myself.The director said they would let the Crematorium know I was collecting them and asked if I would like the number so I could call them. I said surely if you are speaking to them you can let them know.
  I have said I would collect the ashes myself which I am happy to do. I have received no information on how to go about this.I don't imagine it is difficult but it's not the point. I have been given no contact information whatsoever.
  It has made me think I might just as well book a direct cremation and have my ashes delivered to my house.There are much better providers out there I know from experience.It was my Dads wish to use the Co-Op and you tend not to question things at this sensitive time. Do yourself a favour and ask people who they recommend.

Andrew and then Shannon did a sterling job from start to finish. We were treated with respect, empathy and dignity throughout the whole journey. They assisted us in doing him proud with all their help it made it so much of an easier time. Thanks you from our whole family.

The funeral director was a very kind and caring man. Despite traffic problems outside the church he overcame them in a calm and efficient manner to ensure things went smoothly.

If it was not for the assistance of your colleague Jamie, I would of advised the rating as average.

Whilst our brother was late for the start of the funeral procession. It did not help matters when tensions are on tenterhooks, that the procession first of all took the wrong route and then when we arrived in the town centre area for the church.

We then find out that apparently there had been no communication between the funeral directors and the town warden to gain access through the correct route in the town centre to take the procession to the church.

On the day a lady called Becky was very apologetic about what had happened and that she would call me the following day. Yes I did receive a call, but it was from Jamie and I did explain to her what had happened, but she could not understand why.

We did pay a good amount of monies for our fathers funeral and I feel that again whilst we can blame our brother for being late, I feel that the other two issues should not have happened ,when you had been advised very clearly about the route to be taken and then who did not liaise with whom about the route to the church, as there have been many weddings and funerals held at this church which either myself and family have attended.

Everything was made stress free and we were able to have the best funeral for my father.  We know that it would have everything he wanted for his final send off.

The funeral office in Letchworth is off putting. It’s quite rundown and dated.
There is a lack of privacy and needs refurbishment.
Theresa was perfectly helpful and knowledgeable, but communication was a little disjointed. For example I am still awaiting a response about collecting my Mothers ashes, despite two emails and a phone call.
On the day of the funeral the team were consummate professionals and treated my Mother with respect and dignity. They kept us informed at every step. The only issue was at the end of the funeral where no instructions were given and people became confused about where to go.
If you are looking for somewhere that feels special from start to finish then i world recommend looking at alternative options.

Funeral was perfectly carried out Harry was professional in every aspect as was Graham the celebrant you found us the order of service were as we wanted and the flowers were perfect couldn't always get hold of the arranger with out going through the call centre
