From our very first meeting, the Co-op funeral team demonstrated the utmost professionalism and treated with me with compassion.  Having never had to organise a funeral before this was uncharted territory for me - but I was very quickly advised there was no right or wrong thing to do but just go with my heart.

The funeral service was everything that my partner would have wanted it to be - not that we had ever talked about death or funerals.

I am very pleased to learn that my parents have already selected a funeral plan with Co-op so I know that when the time comes for their passing they will be in very capable hands.

We were advised what needed to be done in planning the funeral; Vanessa sourced a suitable funeral celebrant; despite the delay in registering the death, we were still able to visit Dad in the Chapel of Rest; Dad looked peaceful and at rest.  All items we asked to be placed in the coffin, were placed thoughtfully and per our discussions.

The Funeral Celebrant, Paul Hancocks, sourced by Vanessa provided an excellent service.  We met just the once, he asked us lots of questions about Dad and remembered a great deal of detail from our discussions.  He provided an initial draft, which needed only minor tweaks, and was very expressive on the day.  Family and friends, commented and thought that Paul had known Dad, a compliment indeed.  If you could please pass this feedback on to Paul we would be grateful.

Everything proceeded very smoothly including the day of the funeral.

Following a previous bereavement in the family, where arrangements were made with Co-Op Funeralcare in Andover, we found the service differed in Park Gate.  Potentially just due to a different personality style with the contacts.  Andover were very chatty and exceeded our expectations in the help and support provided.  Park Gate were helpful, but did not provide support in the same way.  

We knew Dad was in good hands with the Co-Op, a trusted funeral directors.

A day of family sadness  that no one was looking forward to was transformed into a beautiful and memorable day from the moment Mum was brought back to the family house . From that time the compassion and thoughtfulness shown by Lorna and Gareth was continued through out the service and until we were taken to the wake .We would also like to thank Vanessa for helping us through this very difficult time.Many Thanks to everyone involved.

Vanessa and the team at Park Gate were very caring and made sure that we understood everything that was going on. They made sure we knew what was covered by the Funeral Plan and what would be charged as extra.
On the day they provided an excellent service and the celebrant was superb. She asked so many questions and got John’s personality exactly right.

David Williams at Parkgate Funeralcare Branch was very helpful, efficient and professional. He explained everything in a caring way and got the job done. I could pop into the office without formal appointment which I liked. David was very swift in answering emails and I liked the fact everything was evidenced in writing. I was very pleased my mum's old COOP Anglian funeral plan could be used with the Southern COOP. It covered most of the funeral costs. On the back of this I will be taking one out myself as will my relatives and friends who were very impressed. I liked the memory seeds, book of condolence, order of service designs and wide range of designs you can choose from for coffins, flowers etc. Nick the undertaker on the day was very efficient, he explained the process and put me at ease and the whole funeral at Wessex Vale went like clockwork.
The only issue was Hampshire Registry Office having an over 3 week delay. This meant I had to have an emergency appointment to get the death certificate in Winchester!
Overall my experience with COOP Funeralcare has been exemplary. Thank you and very well done.
