On the day everything went well and we were very pleased with the service and professionalism of those involved. The planning process leading up to this was not as good, poor communication and poor recording of information, too many changes of staff to engage with. Finally, after the funeral there has been far too many emails trying to upsell, very distasteful in my opinion. I have now unsubscribed from all emails in this regard

The care and support we recieved from Heather was outstanding,it made our grief bearable, the communication and effort she put in to ensure we knew what to expect. The whole experience could not of gone any better. The embalmer captured my father in law to a T, the attention to detail was from his hair to his finger nails. All the staff where very professional, firstly by introducing themselves prior to the funeral and explaining what would happen on the day. As a family we could not thank you enough. Many thanks Lorraine Ray and Joan

Our families experience with Pennington Funeralcare was such a positive one.
It felt like Dad was still being cared for by family, after we could no longer do it.
Emma was caring, patient, friendly, attentive & such a huge source of support in difficult circumstances leading up to the funeral and Malcolm & Team made sure that all our requirements for Dad were covered on the day of his send off with no hiccups. Nothing was too much trouble! We can't express our full gratitude enough!

Highly recommend these funeral directors, the staff that dealt with organising my dad's funeral was absolutely brilliant. The staff were so caring, explained all the details and ensured we fully understood everything and that everything was perfect for my dad's service. They listened to what we wanted and to my dad's wishes to ensure it was perfect. They kept us up to date with everything from the start up until his funeral and made sure we was happy with everything and reassured us that we could go and see my dad in the chapel of rest whenever we wanted to.
Considering I've never dealt with a funeral arrangements before they were brilliant and provided outstanding service. Thank you very much for everything.

Couldn’t have asked for a better service.   Dealt with with care and compassion at all times

  • 2 David Hatton 30th Nov 2022

A number of issues which you have been advised of, which I reconfirm together with a couple of other issues
1, On the 7th Nov I phoned to advise that mum had died. Waited 16 mins on phone   before it was answered
2, On visiting Pennington office, with funeral plan details, was advised that you had received mum together with 3 rings, a watch and soft toy.
You also asked for date’s to be avoided, one of which was the 21st (mums birthday) and also advised me of a number of questions that needed answering and confirmed these via email which was a help to me. All of these questions answered during my following visits to your office.
3, I also raised question re policy on some of my late sisters ashes being with mum. Advised a “purse size” could be put in or some ashes could be “sprinkled over coffin. My nephew then made arrangements with his local Funeral Office in Milton Keynes to have some Ashes put in a standard purpose made container.
4, I was later advised that you had in error made arrangements for the 21st which could be rescheduled. I decided to keep with this date as “times” suited.
5, Order of service then submitted to us, in total 16 pages, these had to be revised in total 4 times, with the Rev Cooper having been unable to contact you for most of the day and then I was given a deadline of 4.00pm additional stress which could have been avoided.
6, I then had call to advise me that the Ashes could not be “sprinkled “ but could be buried at cost of £240.
7, I then spoke with Wigan Cemeteries, who did confirm that sprinkling of Ashes was not allowed, but the Ashes could be placed in mums coffin as long as they where in a biodegradable container, with no additional cost.
8, I then spoke with you and made arrangements to bring in the Ashes.
This did mean my Nephew had to travel from Milton Keynes after work on the
         Friday evening.
9, When picked up by your driver, he told us he understood that Family would bear the coffin as only two “pall bearers” available.
Mums coffin was then taken down the Church Aisle on a trolley, which was acceptable. At the Alter steps it was then more than a little awkward with two men negotiating steps and the Funeral director having to lift the trolley and placing it below the coffin so the pall bearers could place it down.
This was then repeated as the coffin was taken out of church, and at the Graveside.

These points were relayed to Suze, who immediately passed our comments on, and we have received a mail from  your Funeral Service Manager Maddie Corfield confirming my points will be investigated.
    Regards
    David Hatton
