At such a difficult time for my brother and I, the Co-op were excellent. Talked you through all the steps and funeral options which made the situation easier to handle.

Both myself and my two daughters found Susan most helpful in making all the funeral arrangements including collecting my late wife from Edinburgh where she died and taking her into your care Also those responsible for the hearse and funeral car were
very professional and supportive. Very grateful to all.

The staff at Cos Lane were amazing. Lois and Martin and Yvonne. My sister and I had no experience of arranging a funeral. Lois was very helpful and attentive. Martin phoned introduced himself, checked all the details were correct. Staff wearing red ties to match the ties the family wore was a lovely touch. Very helpful supportive people. Could not fault the service 5 star

  • 5 Patricia Warren 16th May 2022

Great support throughout a difficult time. Martin was so understanding and went out of his way to help.
    Many thanks to everyone.

I could not fault the sensitive and professional way in which my brother was treated when initially taken to the funeral home. We were all very touched by the knitted heart which was left on his pillow.

James was very sympathetic and helpful when my nephew and I went to plan my brother’s funeral. In retrospect things could have been explained a bit more clearly detailing what was and wasn’t  included in the various funeral packages. It’s not easy discussing finances at such an emotional time. As we explained to James, we wanted something very simple, a no frills cremation. James put down for an essential package once we told him what we wanted. He added the cost of a coffin which I later discovered was apparently included in the package anyway

It was a shock when I received the final invoice as it was £530 more than the estimate given at the initial meeting with James. It took a lot of courage for me to question the bill as I expected to be able to trust that the bill would be correct. The invoice was set out with a complicated description and it almost seemed as if it was for someone else’s funeral.

I had a meeting with Ross who explained that an honest mistake had been made. I’m pleased to say that the bill was adjusted.

However I do feel details should be double checked in future so that this sort of thing doesn’t happen to any other family. We were in a very emotional and vulnerable position and should have been able to trust that everything would be done correctly without question. I hope valuable lessons have been learnt so that others will not have the same unfortunate experience.

Martin assisted myself and my sister to arrange my Mothers funeral. He was a very compassionate, kind and caring, he assisted us with all procedures and also what we needed to know in dealing with this process.
All staff were so understanding, ready to help us in our time of need.
They all showed respect, it was a great comfort to with us.
I want to add that Martin, on Mums day was outstanding, every member of our family commented on his appearance, his manner, his respect to not just Mum but to us all.
I cannot thank him, Susan and the entire staff in the Cooperative Funeral care in Glenrothes. Don’t know what we’d have done without them. They are all a credit to the Company, truly they are.

From the first phone call through to the funeral itself and even after the funeral the service from the team was supporting, understanding and first class. Special mention to Susan our funeral arranger, Shelagh our celebrant, and Martin our Funeral Director on the day we could not have asked for more.

  • 5 Emma Wallace 20th Apr 2022

I can't thank you all enough for this past year thanks again for all-your help

  • 1 John McIlroy 12th Apr 2022

    1. Not being informed when mum was ready for viewing so family missed out over the weekend (even though specifically asked after 3rd call)
    2. Barged into viewing room stating did not know someone was in also while person was in all she could hear was laughing and loud voices
    3. Forgot to have all paperwork signed, while in funeral car was asked to sign a paper for those carrying coffin
    4. Final bill was incorrect as had 2 funeral cars charged when shoukd have been 1.
    5. Asked for a manager call after no 1 waited a week no call then made formal complaint which reply didnt even cover all points.

    Shocking service throughout

We, as a family, cannot thank everyone enough at the Funeral Home for their help, kindness and understanding. The respect they showed to the family and to my husband who had passed suddenly was so heartfelt and compassionate. They made everything possible for us to give my husband the care and respect and love he deserved. They made sure that we were given every option available to us for the Service. Even though it is the most upsetting period of our lives, they helped make it easier for us and ensured my husband got the Day we wanted to give to him, family and all our friends.

  • 2 Doreen Wallace 10th Apr 2022

Booking the cremation went as well as could be expected, however, Mrs Wallace and I were advised that there would be a 14 day period cooling off period then we would be informed of the cremation date.
This did not happen, Brian was cremated on Monday 28th, I had a phone call from your office on Wednesday 30th March to say that Brian had been cremated....2 days after the event.
Can you imagine how upset his mother was? Although there was no service she planned to do something special on the day of his cremation.
I find this shocking, I hope this doesn't happen to any other grieving family.
Under the circumstances I feel a written apology is due to Brian's mother.
Be assured that I will never use your services.
