For the amount of money being spent I expect someone to answer the phone and not wait up to 24 hours for someone to contact me. One one occasion my call was not returned and I had to drive from Kent to Southend to get a response, I was also not kept updated thoroughly and received unexpected calls from other parties at difficult times. I was also contacted by email which was not discussed or agreed by me and on occasions I had to correct previous arrangements made. This all left the family feeling uncertain as to how the day would proceed.

I found everyone in your Southend office most helpful caring and respectful. I visited my aunt Jessie to say my own personal goodbye and everything was beautifully prepared. The funeral was conducted in a most  respectful way. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness.

From start to finish the communication was made easy. The discussion to arrange our mum's was sensitively handled and helped us to feel we would have what we wanted at such a difficult time. They called to check everything again before the day and the actual day went as well as it possibly could. I would definitely recommend them.

All really good - from original meeting to actual cremation. The only point I would add is that where we did not require the car that was part of the Silver Funeral Plan I feel the service sheets costing £78 could have been 
provided free of charge.
 I appreciate these were outsourced but Coop did not have   to pay for driver and petrol.

Pretty basic service, not that impressed with the contact, I know it was a direct cremation but id still expect the same level of care -when I phoned to instruct the undertakers, I didn’t even get a “sorry for your loss” 

The ladies in the local office were friendly but still, I booked a telephone appointment and had to wait over half an hour past the time when I then phoned them .

Malissa and everyone at the Co-op Southend treated Brian and me with care, empathy and professionalism.
The Funeral Director on the day, Jamie, went the extra mile quite literally to ensure that Brian’s service wasn’t rushed. I can’t begin to say how much that meant.

We would like to thank everyone from Southend Co-op Funeral Directors for the kind, caring and professional way that they took care of our mum’s funeral.  From the moment we walked into the Funeral Parlour we felt we mattered, and that all our requests were met with sympathy and respect, and that they had time to listen to us in between all our tears!  On the day of our mum’s funeral the cars were immaculate and the hearse drivers were extremely kind, sympathetic and very professional.  They looked extremely smart too, and the whole family felt we could not have asked for anything better.  Thank you so much to all concerned for everything in helping us get through our very emotional and extremely sad day. Thank you so much.

As a family we couldn't have asked for better service. Steve, Malissa and Phoebe were so restful, helpful and caring. The small personal touches did not go unnoticed and we all felt as though our wonderful dad had the send off that he deserved.
