I can only say how empathetic to my needs for my husbands funeral they were. From my initial phone call to meeting to make all the arrangements. Keeping in touch until the day and even two weeks later still showed compassion. Their thoughts are always to the whole family. I can only say thank you for all that they have done.

Payne and Sons was recommended to me as a real family firm. When I first went they were very sensitive to the requirements I had, which were caused by the deceased being a non UK national.
They helped me through the difficult period and were extremely compliant with the necessities of a special funeral. Those who had travelled from far and from abroad were very favourably impressed with the arrangements.
This was all done with care and sensitivity and the final bill was very honest.
I am glad that they were recommended and I shall recommend them myself to those unfortunate enough to need them.

The way they handed my Mothers funeral was excellent nothing was to much trouble for them, and everything I asked was done

Eddie was very sympathetic on our first visit.  He made us feel comfortable at such an emotional time and talked us through the process. He also put us in touch with Martin Ellis, the celebrant, who did a very good job on the day and also made himself approachable even though he was on holiday that week.  The team on the day were also very good.  Thank you.

Dean was professional and kind throughout. Payne and Sons organised everything in a short time and went out of their way to accommodate everything we asked for . Will definitely recommend and go back !

We found the experience Pains offered to be excellent and most helpful.
They stepped in when other funeral directors over committed leaving us somewhat distraught.
We wish we had contacted them in the first instance and have no concerns in recommending them.

Lee was our main point of contact, he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my beloved Dad was given the Service he deserved. He arranged a lovely Celebrant called Tracey, who also was amazing. Lee always had time for us, nothing was rushed and being able to have the use of their own Service Hall made my Dad's farewell celebration so very personal to us all. Lee arranged a wonderful slideshow of photos of my dad that I'd sent him,we didn't ask him to do this, but because he's so thoughtful, he did this in his own time, played it to us and it was perfect. We had an hour in the Service Hall, with Dad,before family and friends began arriving. This gave us the close family time we needed to cry,talk, hug...Lee & Tracey were always on hand to give advice to get us through the most difficult time of our lives. We can never thank them enough for their kindness.
When we collected Dad's ashes, again Lee took the time to sit and talk...Payne's have been fantastic in every aspect and met our every need to help us all through.
Being able to use their Service Hall,and not have to go to the Crematorium and be rushed through was just what we wanted...this way we could celebrate Dad's life however we wanted and know that we weren't going to be rushed through.
Our family would recommend Payne's to everyone. We had so many family members and friends who said what a special & personal Service it was and that they didn't know you could have a funeral like that...and that was the way they wanted to be remembered too. That says it all, we know that we gave our Dad, Mum's husband of 54 years, the best farewell that we could....and we couldn't of done that without the help and support that we got from Lee at Payne's and Tracey, the Celebrant who took the Service..that Lee provided for us.
As a family, we'll never forget how supportive and thoughtful you all were, Liz, Fiona,Kenny and our families say a big thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all at Payne & Sons
