They were very kind and helpful, if at times a little forgetful It is definitely the first time I have been asked for a 50% deposit but I suppose that is the way the world is going

dont even think of placing anyone with them i placed my son with them the worse experance ever. i thought they had everything in hand BUT on the thursday before was told that nothing had been done. i contacted another funeral diector who pulled everything together in just under a week which i will remain forever thankful im in the process of taking this to the ombusman as its bad enough dealing with a death of your child but then no one at the funeral home to not bother is just caused so much pain it was like loosing him all ove again

Lara at the Dorchester Office was very considerate and caring. She and her team looked after our concerns and requests in a quiet and professional manner. The cremation was handled very sensitivity by the undertaker in charge ensuring that we were content with the arrangements throughout. I cannot that all involved enough for making a difficult time that much easier, for looking after our Dad Nd ensuring that he had the fitting send off that he deserved.

A very compassionate and efficient service provided by the staff at the Co-op Dorchester.
They made the process very easy to understand and made our family feel relaxed and reassured at all times.
The staff had a very clear understanding of our needs and wishes and we can only speak highly in regards to their service provision.

No privacy on initial discussion to finalise details. Promised blue ties would be worn only 2 had blue ties on, cock up music being played at the wrong time. Nowhere near as good as when Co-Op dealt with my Father's funeral.

The whole service provided by you was very friendly and efficient throughout. We were kept in touch at all stages and couldn't have asked for anything better. Well done and thank you, I think Dad as a former undertaker himself would have approved of the service you gave him. Regards Mike Groves

The staff at Co op Funeral care gave me excellent service and support throughout the process of planning and carrying out my husband's Funeral.

  • 2 Nicholas Williams 12th Feb 2022

Dad had paid for a silver package. The arrangements could have gone so well, but ended up a near disaster.
1/ Despite advising about Dad's peacemaker, it was left nearly too late to actually have it removed.
2/ Despite the package including embalming, it was left too late to ask if we wanted it, as Dorchester cannot do it.
3/ Despite advising on numerous occasions that I wanted to pay may last respects to Dad in Dorchester on Monday or Tuesday before the cremation, it was nearly too late to get him ready.
4/ Despite the early agreement for a simple cremation, it was only at the last minute that we were asked about music and flowers.
5/ On the day of the memorial service, just 2 hours before the service, I was called as I was leaving the house to say that the coop had failed to collect Dad's ashes as agreed the day before. To make it worse they had apparently attempted to collect them, but had not got the correct paperwork. There was no attempt to contact me for 24 hours.
6/ Despite all of these major errors, we were going to be charged extra for a funeral director to attend the memorial.

At least on the day, Kate the funeral director, and Alan the driver were very helpful and supportive and apologetic.
