From the first phone call I knew I had made the right decision. , The collection of mum was considerate and kind. The first appointment was sad but comforting. The service arrangement was easy. While the service on the day went well it was more down to the efforts of the speaker David Hodson and director on the day Richard.

I chose JJ Allen because it was in Westbourne and I had been told by the doctor that selected a funeral director was the next step in the process.

I don’t believe I was told what the options were and I certainly wasn’t sent an indication of what the different options and accompanying costs were.

I think that should be standard practice. Not being accustomed to burying my wife I wasn’t aware (nor am I still) whether once the body has been removed to the funeral home you have committed to a given funeral director?

That would be good information for future clients. Most may know that but I and probably some others will not. It’s a sensitive area as a client – it’s distasteful to have to ask or question about costs at that time ..but it is important – an email outlying them would have taken away the awkwardness.

There was little contact between myself and JJ Allen, and what there was, was fragmented with different people involved . I would think it best practice to have a main point of contact and in the end I relied on David mostly to give me an idea of what to expect and when by because he was proactive and directive. Julia helped me to choose a more suitable package after I queried the initial quotation but she was busy on other projects to provide much help beyond that. A number of times I tried calling you but the number I had been given was the central coop one so I would only be able to leave messages. When I finally got the Westbourne office number it would often just ring out.

A mobile of the person dealing with the funeral would be useful in this day and age.

I would like to thank you for suggesting David as he was brilliant at setting the tone of the funeral. It is a lovely venue.
