To meet everyone at A.W.Lymn Cotmanhay has been a delight and a privilege. They have provided a service which could not be bettered. Everyone has been helpful, compassionate, informative patient and reassuring. Special thanks are due to Mr Mark Hancock who put so much work, skill and humanity into the wonderful words he spoke in memory of my late wife. If I find myself in need of funeral services in the future I will come to you again and cannot conceive of any company that could equal your company.

In 2003, the Cotmanhay branch joined A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service. Before then, it was the headquarters of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service, which opened in 1979.
Bennerley House, the beautiful building where the funeral home is located, originally belonged to a local carpenters and includes a reception area, family rooms, visitation rooms, cold room facilities and garaging for part of our fleet of Rolls-Royce hearses and limousines.
Mick Schofield is the funeral director responsible for this office and is assisted by funeral director Nikki Anderson.
The opening times are from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, but you can call at any time on the telephone number to arrange an appointment – you will then be able to arrange a meeting at your convenience.
The branch covers all of Cotmanhay and its surrounding area, including Awsworth, Cossall, Eastwood, Heanor, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley, Stanley, West Hallam and further afield.
A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service was founded in 1907 and is now managed by Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose.
To meet everyone at A.W.Lymn Cotmanhay has been a delight and a privilege. They have provided a service which could not be bettered. Absolutely amazing service. Respectful, professional and very helpful. They guided us through every step of this difficult journey. Every member of staff did their job with us in mind, from arranging the day, looking after Philip, and on the day itself. We were kept informed at every stage.
The celebrate Keith Brown gave an exceptional service at the crematorium.
Would definitely recommend this team.

From the first contact with Lymns, who rang me to say they were collecting my mum from the hospital, they were brilliant. They made everything so easy and stress free. Mick and Nicola were professional, caring, helpful and understanding and were a pleasure to deal with during a difficult time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lymns.

Unfortunately this is the 2nd time our family have had to use A.W.Lymn Cotmanhay. After the 1st funeral there was no other funeral directors we would have used. Mick, Nicola, Wayne and the other staff members are kind, supportive and professional. Any time and any question they have always assisted in any way they could, Nothing was ever too much trouble. Michelle at Lymns guided us all the way through our mother's funeral. Michelle went above and beyond to help us give our mum the best funeral. Nothing was too much trouble and it was done with compassion and thoughtfulness. On the day of the funeral we were advised of what was happening every step of the way. Thank you Lymns of Cotmanhay.

From the moment we walked into the office at Lymns cotmanhay ,we were dealt with by caring , compassionate staff. Michelle made a sad situation comfortable and as pleasant as it could be.
A couple of the lads had already asked if they could be scheduled to work on mums funeral as they had also done the funerals of our dad and younger sister! Michelle gave us the confidence to instruct them to carry out the most personal service and she also confirmed our choice of celebrant Tracey Mathews to be a great choice.
Tracey also encouraged us to have the service so aptly tailored to our dear mum by putting lots of hours in listening to stories from old friends and family.She was spot on with her eulogy celebrating mums colourful life, just perfect. We can’t thank Tracey and Lymns at cotmanhay enough …..you did our mum and us proud, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you, Mandy, Wayne and families.
