In 2003, the Cotmanhay branch joined A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service. Before then, it was the headquarters of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service, which opened in 1979.
Bennerley House, the beautiful building where the funeral home is located, originally belonged to a local carpenters and includes a reception area, family rooms, visitation rooms, cold room facilities and garaging for part of our fleet of Rolls-Royce hearses and limousines.
Mick Schofield is the funeral director responsible for this office and is assisted by funeral director Nikki Anderson.
The opening times are from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, but you can call at any time on the telephone number to arrange an appointment – you will then be able to arrange a meeting at your convenience.
The branch covers all of Cotmanhay and its surrounding area, including Awsworth, Cossall, Eastwood, Heanor, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley, Stanley, West Hallam and further afield.
A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service was founded in 1907 and is now managed by Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose.

The Family of Barbara Dorian would like to thank Lymns Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional service they provided from start to finish in arranging Barbaras farewell. Particular thanks to Nicky and Mick and his team. Also a special mention to our chosen celebrant Tracey Mathew's for her warm and sympathetic eulogy . We definitely made the right choices to bid farewell to our much loved mum/mother in law/grandma and would recommend them wholeheartedly. Everything was perfect and all of Marjorie's many friends and relatives were very impressed. We all felt that with the help of A.W. Lymn we had given her the best send-off possible. The support and care we received from Mick and the team at AW Lymn was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble I cannot thank them enough. The whole family felt very looked after, getting through this sad time was made much easier by the help and support of Mick.

Absolutely faultless. Whilst you never want to be in a position where you are recommending a funeral directors service the reality is there will be occasions when you do need this type of professional service.
We were so well looked after, the communication was fantastic, the support offered was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble; all of our questions were answered very professional service.
I would absolutely recommend this company.
