Choosing a funeral director is never an easy task, but it's crucial to find the right company when the time comes. I can't stress enough how important this decision is. When we had to make that choice, we knew we made the right one by contacting J.T. Howe.

With my recent loss of my mum, we started reaching out to local funeral directors. My mum had a simple wish for a minimal and fuss-free cremation without a celebrant. All our family wanted was a quiet moment of reflection at the crematorium to bid our final farewell.

After contacting a few funeral directors who couldn't accommodate our wishes, I reached out to J.T. Howe and spoke with Emma. She immediately reassured us that our wishes were possible and started making the arrangements. It was a tremendous relief, and Emma's compassionate approach made the emotional situation much easier to bear.

The next day, we visited their office and worked out all the details with Emma's husband, James. He took care of us throughout the entire process, from planning to the actual day of the funeral.

The funeral turned out exactly as we had hoped, faultless and meaningful. James even went the extra mile to reassure my young son, which meant a lot to me.

If you're in search of a funeral director, I highly recommend giving Emma and James a call. They are two lovely and caring individuals who genuinely want to honor your loved one's final wishes in the best possible way.

We experienced a professional and caring service from start to finish, my mum lost her husband and was treated with great kindness and understanding, everything was taken care of and suggestions helped to build a service in a very upsetting time when minds are not working as usual, cannot recommend enough.

I can’t fault the service we received from Jason (& Emma) for my mum’s funeral. 
He guided us with choices, was respectful at every encounter, understanding and patient when we repeatedly changed our minds and he made suggestions where we needed them, some of which reduced our costs. 
With hindsight he made a terrible time for us more bearable. 
Although I’d rather not have to use his services again he would definitely be the person I would turn to, to help us get through it.

James provided a sensitive and proficient service for an unusual situation that involved liaising with another funeral directors in a different area. He has been considerate, informative and supportive about our choices as a family at every step in the process. His firm is also reasonably priced.

We can't thank James enough for his invaluable guidance and his compassion. The day after our mother passed, we contacted James in a blur of sadness and confusion. From moment of first contact with James, and considering the circumstances, the experience was 'pleasant '.The service provided was very professional, James explained the procedure in detail and there was no problem accommodating my late father's wishes. James and his colleagues were professional, courteous gentlemen and my family feel that everything went as scheduled, even though an unexpected post mortem had to be taken. Would highly recommend and would be happy to use again (but not too soon). Thank you James.

James and Emma helped us arrange Richard's funeral in a short space of time.
Richard wanted a humanist ceremony and a tree to be planted on his grave.
James arranged for a non religious ceremony which was a celebration of Richard's life to take place in the methodist church. He also arranged for a wake with catering and a pop up bar in the town hall in the afternoon after Richard was buried at a private ceremony at the woodland burial site at Hope. Richard had decided before he passed away that he wanted to be buried at Hope and it was great that he got what he wanted. James was very helpful from the start . The day went very well from start to finish thanks to James and his team.
