We cannot speak highly enough of the attentive service we received from Fiona at A.W. Lymn Spondon. Fiona could not have been more helpful and compassionate and she understood what we wanted as a family for Dad. The day of the funeral went smoothly and everything was professionally organised. Special thanks also to celebrant Karen Gratton for a beautiful service.

Formerly an Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service branch, this home was incorporated by the A W Lymn group in 2003, and then moved next door to a refurbished premises in 2009 and given the title Barton House.
The premises offer a large reception area, two visiting rooms, a private arranging office and there is off-street parking available.
Kevin Hall is the area manager and the office is run by funeral director Fiona Hall.
The office opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, but an appointment can be scheduled by calling at any time day or night, seven days a week.
The branch covers all of Spondon and its surrounding area including Alvaston, Borrowash, Chaddesden, Draycott, Elvaston, Oakwood, Ockbrook, Risley and beyond.
A W Lymn is a family owned business since its establishment in 1907 and is currently owned by Jackie, Matthew and Nigel Lymn Rose.

As soon as we walked through the door, nothing was a problem. Fiona was amazing and helped make a stressful time easy. Fiona also made a sad day very respectful and enjoyable, which was lovely. The celebate, Mark, was fabulous right from our first meeting to making the actual ceremony a time of reflection and joy. All in all Fiona, Mark and Lymns helped us give our beloved wife and mother the send off she deserved. The cars were the icing on the cake. My father has just said ‘Unforgettable’. Can’t recommend you highly enough and will certainly be using you all again when his turn comes. Thank you ❤️

Dont know how we got through it all without Fiona. She was so helpful and sorted out any issues we had re music etc. The cars were amazing and we really gave my dad a good send off as we pulled up at the crem. From beginning to end we had first class service. It wasn't all doom and gloom, we had a good few laughs with Fiona. She was brilliant so suited to the job and really is a people person. Fiona was amazing as was Kevin in helping me organise my husbands funeral, enabling me to give him the send off we wanted which was a tribute to his life, abs we had lots of comments saying as a funeral goes that was one of the nicest I’ve been to in a long time, Fiona did nothing of my parents funeral and I wouldn’t have entrusted my wonderful husband to anyone else that Fiona & Kevin and Lynms.

We were disappointed not to have the flatbed lorry, he would have loved that other than that we found your services lovely, particularly Fiona she was brilliant and couldn't do enough to help, we are particularly pleased with her negotiation with Derby's Dale DC which enabled us to be all together for ever, that is very comforting, so thank you.
