A.W. Lymn's Derby office was originally opened by funeral director David Meek in 1986 and the premises are located in the City Centre, at Derwent House, on Becket Street.
The office features garaging for a new fleet of Rolls Royce Phantom cars and also displays a hearse from the 1890’s. Derwent House includes a reception, off-street parking, a family room, a visitation room, cold room facilities and washing facilities for Asian and African / Caribbean funeral rites.
Kevin Hall, the senior funeral director who manages the surrounding area, has been with A W Lymn since 2003 and is aided at the branch by funeral arranger Greg Martin.
The office opening hours are 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 12.30 pm on Saturday. You can call anytime of the day, seven days a week to schedule an appointment outside of these hours if you would prefer.
This branch covers Derby city centre and its surrounding areas including Allestree, Alvaston, Belper, Breadsall, Chaddesden, Darley Abbey, Duffield, Littleover, Mackworth, Markeaton, Osmaston, Pride Park, Sinfin, Spondon and beyond.
Nigel Lymn Rose along with his son Matthew and his sister Jackie own and manage A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service.

Having never organised a funeral before I was uncertain what to expect. As I don’t live in Derby my first contact was with Greg by phone, when we met I immediately had a rapport and felt comfortable asking him anything. Everything was handled professionally and sympathetically by Greg when planning it all and then by Neil and the rest of the team on the day. All mums’ wishes came to fruition and for that I am extremely grateful.

This is the first time we have experienced the loss of a loved one so close to us and being involved with planning a funeral. Kevin took care of everything and involved us all the way. Giving us information and any actions that we needed to do. The kindness and compassion we received was exceptional. Kevin handed over to Neil who we met on the day of the funeral. He introduced himself and lead us to the car. We felt like VIPS in the Rolls Royce. He treated us with dignity and respect.Showing his respect to my Dad on his final journey. I saw Neil walk with my Mum holding her arm to reassure and support. That was nice to see.We couldnt have asked for a better service and we thank you both.

Right from the start this was an event I was uncomfortable in taking part in. However, Neil and his team were friendly, understanding and so compassionate that I soon soon relaxed, listened to what was being explained and my anxiety disappeared.
We (the family) are so happy how the funeral was organised and so smoothly carried out. Nothing seemed to faze this team; they are the ultimate professionals and a credit to Lymns.
