i would like to give thanks on the way our funeral for Carole was handled from start to finish by your staff, starting with the 2 girls that came to take carole to the chapel of rest who handled her with care and respect, Julie the funeral director was very caring and was helpful with everything,Karen at the chapel of rest was very caring to all my family and myself on our visits to Carole, Laura Parks the recommended Celebrant did an exellent job as though she was one of the family.

you have a great staff and can only thank them all.

All of the staff at co-op Funeralcare Spennymoor were courteous professional and supportive.
They made me feel at ease from the first steps to the last steps of my late husband's funeral and I couldn't ask for anything more and my husband would have thanked them as well.

The help and care we received from Julie McMullen from ferryhill funeral care was outstanding not only she showed us respect but also showed my dad dignity and respect from day 1 there is literally no words to say how amazing she is and if my dad was still here he would have appreciated everything she has done nothing was a trouble for her she was so calm warm and caring if we had to rate her out of 100 it would be 120

I can not fault any of the people I came in to contact with . Lisa at spennymoor was lovely and understanding. The girl at Ferryhill ( whose name I didn't catch ) was lovely and stayed back one night so we were able to see my Mam and that was so important to us as Mam wasn't embalmed and because of the time it had taken that was our last chance to see her 💔.David who conducted the funeral was brilliant as Was Carole The Celebrant who conducted the service and to these people my heart felt thanks . However there are things that I am very unhappy about and I appreciate it was a very busy time of year but my Mam was born and bred in spennymoor yet she had to go to Ferryhill to rest I would say in peace but unfortunately she did not look comfortable at all . The coffin was very skimpy lined and was far to long so there was a massive gap where her feet ended and the end of the coffin ! I had been told there was a issue with the coffin as the coffin makers were on strike so I was happy to have a different coffin ( I understood it would be a different colour) as it was to be cremated I just wanted to see her as it had been nearly three weeks after her death by this point but it was far to big and very deep I could not reach over to give her a kiss on her forehead ! The day of the funeral was well organised and went well Thank you David. However yet again I am left waiting for Mam's ashes to be returned to me . It is over a week and half since the funeral but still haven't got them back I ordered a scatter tube at the very beginning after Mam's death but apparently it takes longer to fill a scatter tube and that's why there is a delay !! So overall the front of house staff are very good kind and respectful and I have a feeling they will get a lot of stick and grieving relatives that are very upset at things beyond thier control. I have no idea what gose on behind that and do wonder if it was because Mam had pre paid and it's a case of they have already got the money so it's ok !! It's the first time I have used the co op but it will certainly be the last. I will be happy to talk to someone who is in charge of this side of the organisation if it will help make changers for grieving relatives in the future.

From start to finish Lisa was excellent. We were really not looking forward to arranging the funeral for mum, but Lisa was so kind and professional at each step of the way, and added that personal service which was so much appreciated.
We were confident that you would look after mum on her final journey and we were not disappointed. Everyone went out of their way to make the day as easy as possible.
As a family, we have always used Co-op Funeral Services, and will continue to do so. Thank you to all of the team for looking after mum (and us) and making the process more bearable.

Everything was carried out with dignity and kindness. From first contact Nick listened to our wishes, kept us updated throughout and went that extra mile to get the family exactly what we wanted for mam's send off.
