From the very first day they took over ther care of my fathers body,and funeral organisation, I have nothing but high praise for both Richard and Vikki who were extremely supportive at a very difficult time. Everything went so smoothly to give my father the type of send off he would've wanted. I would highly recommend the Coop funeral service

Lovely, caring professional people. Just a couple of minor issues with the actual service I received.
I had to contact them to find out if they had received the photos for the Order of Service and I was worried as no payment had been requested even though it was talked about at the beginning. Good there was no pressure to pay but I knew it was expected before the service. 
Also no one’s fault but Hearse broke down so were 10 minutes late arriving at the house, they did call but phone turned off prior to funeral.
 I paid the final bill amount over phone but as yet have not received a written acknowledgement. (The amount has been deducted from my bank account)
Finally when I picked up mums ashes the lock of hair and fingerprints requested were not there. They were found to be at the other funeral home the Coop have in Durham where mum went originally. I was promised these would be delivered to me asap. Six days later I had to contact them again to ask when they would be delivered. 
As I said lovely, genuine staff just not totally on top of everything.

The support we received was not what we would have eloped for. We understand there were staffing issues but even so the pre support was disjointed and on the day there were several errors/ omissions that left us feeling let down. However thank you for the staff on the day who tried to put it right

Dad's funeral was already paid for, so over the last few months of his life, he gave us instructions and requests of what he wanted. This was given to the funeral director and she gave us lots of information and alternative options which made for a lovely send off for my dad.

Everyone was so couteous and polite who i dealt with - Vikki was brilliant and made me so relaxed in choosing options etc and on the day made sure my son was included - so greatful to her and her team for on the day - which made it so special for Gary - and made us all at ease - nothing was a problem to them

The team at Gilesgate/Sherburn Hill were all wonderful. Knowledgeable, helpful and very kind.
They made a difficult time much easier to cope with. I cannot praise them highly enough.

We used the CO-OP direct cremation for our father in March and were highly impressed with the price and the professionalism and the genuine compassion.
Sadly 6 months on my husband dies and i immediately use the services again.
I cant thank Veronica Naisbitt enough for her genuine down to earth approach. It was like having your best friend sorting everything out and i will never forget that. Shes a pure gem at the Gilesgate funeral home. 
Another reason your services were used is the price shown on tv is what it says on the tin and those extras like having the ashes returned arnt exspensive   or a rip off like many other funeral directors
All i can say is give Veronica a large pay rise, shes worth it and keep your prices as they are for as long as you can. More people are coming round to this new way of funerals especially as money is being stretched and this is a very financially sound service.

Excellent service , we live 200 miles away and all arrangements were made remotely but I was treated very compassionately and respectfully.

Veronica in the Gilesgate office was excellent from start to finish and could not have been more helpful. The team who worked with us on the day of the funeral were efficient and discreet. All in all an very good experience at what was a very difficult time
