About Us

West Lothian Crematorium is located within Coulson Wood in Livingston, about half an hour west of Edinburgh. The crematorium is set in 25 acres of woodland, providing a tranquil setting for funeral services and visitors wanting to come and pay their respects.

All funeral services of any religious faith or denomination are welcome at West Lothian Crematorium, as well as humanist celebrations of life and other non-religious funeral services.

The chapel is built from local stone and wood, giving it a natural, peaceful atmosphere and seats 115 mourners with standing space for a further 50. Services can be relayed outside via a speaker system for larger parties. There is a digital music system with an expansive library. Audio and visual recording of funeral services is available. There are around 100 parking spaces on-site with two coach parking areas.

Services run from 9:00am to 5:00pm from Monday to Friday and each service is 60 minutes long. Extra service time can be requested at an additional charge. Weekend services from 9:00am to 2:00pm are also available for an additional charge.

The crematorium offices are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday and the memorial gardens and grounds are open to visitors at the following times:

• Monday to Friday, April to September, from 9:00am to 6:00pm
• Monday to Friday, October to March, from 9:00am to 5:00pm
• Weekends and holidays, all year round, from 10:00am to 4:30pm
