About Us
Thornton Garden of Rest Crematorium in Merseyside, was opened in 1963 to cater to bereaved families in the local area.The crematorium is designed in a 60s style, and has a book of remembrance rooms, a waiting room and other facilities. The chapel at the crematorium can seat up to 80 guests and is equipped with a hearing loop system for those who have issues hearing. Funeral music can be played on the CD system provided by the crematorium or families can make use of the Hammond organ which is provided at no extra fee.
Families can inter cremated remains in the memorial garden or in a cremated remains grave. Alternatively, they can take the cremated remains for private scattering or interment.
There is car parking including disabled parking available at the back of the Crematorium.
The grounds are open all year around until 8.30 pm from April to August, and until 7 pm from September to March.
