Thornhill Cemetery and Crematorium
About Us
Thornhill Crematorium in Cardiff opened in 1953, a year after the cemetery.
Thornhill has two chapels of rest, Briwnant Chapel and Wenallt Chapel. The Wenallt Chapel is the older and larger of the two, with seating for up to 160 people. The chapel has screens for visual tributes, and has space for small musical ensembles or small choirs. Briwnant Chapel can seat up to 40 people, with limited additional standing room. It uses a digital music system which can play any commercially available music and most popular hymns. Both chapels are fully accessible, and have webcasting equipment, for those that cannot be at the service physically.
The crematorium at Thornhill is open from 9am until 4:45pm and from 10am to 3:45pm on weekends and bank holidays.
