South Essex Crematorium
About Us
Established in 1957, the South Essex Crematorium is located on the outskirts of the Upminster Cemetery. Graceful columns and arches in contrasting white stone accentuate this red brick building.
There are two chapels suitable for funeral services of differing sizes. The South Chapel can seat up to 120 guests with a balcony, and contains large digital screens for photographs of treasured memories. The smaller East Chapel is suitable for family funerals, seating approximately 40 people. Both have an organ available, as well as an audio system for recorded music, and a DVD recording or webcast option for those unable to attend the service. These facilities are fully accessible and offer a hearing loop, minicom, and wheelchair ramps.
The grounds at the South Essex Crematorium are filled with beautiful landscaping such as water features and rose gardens. There is also a café that can cater for a wake, or simply provide a place for refreshments during your visit.
