Saltwell Crematorium
About Us
Saltwell Crematorium at Gateshead welcomes all kinds of funerals - traditional, religious or non-religious.The elegant chapel at the crematorium seats 78 people and there is extra standing space as well. Each service can take up to 20 minutes, and can be extended by payment of an additional fee. Families can choose any kind of music for the funeral service. Families can choose to have the funeral service elsewhere before or after the cremation or the entire service can be carried out at the Saltwell Crematorium.
The peaceful garden of remembrance offers a comforting environment for families to mourn their loved ones. Memorial plaques can be attached to the kerbstones at the borders of the garden. Cremated remains may either be scattered at the Garden of Remembrance or collected by the funeral director and given to the family. To create an everlasting tribute, families can choose to include details of their loved ones in the Book of Remembrance.
