Pentrebychan Crematorium
About Us
Pentrebychan Crematorium is located in the outskirts of Wrexham, amidst 40 acres of grounds and gardens.
The crematorium was built in 1966, on the site where the 17th century Pentrebychan Hall was located. Built by Hugh Meredith of Wrexham, the family traced their ancestry to Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, Prince of Powys. The hall and estate were among the most extensive in the area. The Crematorium and grounds reflect the history of the site, with heron, badgers, buzzards, snakes, ducks and owls among the species of animals you can spot around the grounds.
You can choose to scatter the ashes of your loved one in four distinct areas of the grounds - the Walled Garden, the Wisteria Walk, the Lily Pool and the Daffodil Meadow. Each of these areas is beautifully landscaped and maintained, with numbered plots so that you can clearly identify the location of the strewed ashes.
The bright and spacious chapel at Pentrebychan can seat up to 120 people, with extra room for standing. The chapel can be outfitted with religious symbols if you wish. A hearing loop system is available for those who require it.
The crematorium office at Pentrebychan is open from 9am until 12:30pm, and from 1:30pm until 4:30pm during the week (apart from Friday when it closes at 4pm). The grounds and gardens are open at 9am during the week, and at 10am on weekends and bank holidays. The gates close at 6pm in the summer, and 4pm during the winter.
