Park Wood Crematorium
About Us
Park Wood Crematorium in Elland, is set on a scenic and peaceful hillside, giving you stunning views across Elland and the surrounding area.
There are two chapels available at Park Wood. The main chapel can seat up to 88 people, with space for more to stand at the rear of the chapel. For larger ceremonies, the service can be watched on television screens in the foyer. The Snowdrop Chapel is smaller, and is designed to be an intimate space where families and friends can remember infants. Both chapels are wheelchair friendly, and there are hearing loops installed.
The Gardens of Remembrance at Park Wood Crematorium give you plenty of options for memorials and cremated remains. Ashes can be strewn in the gardens by staff who will record the location, or you can purchase a remembrance plot where ashes can be interred. If you would like to plant a memorial tree, you should contact the staff who will be able to help.
Park Wood Crematorium has space for 60 cars, and can also be reached by bus, with the number 564 stopping just outside. Disbaled parking is available, and there are ramps that lead to the crematorium entrances.
The crematorium office at Park Wood is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Thursday and until 4pm on Fridays. The grounds and gardens open at 7am on weekdays, and at 9am on weekends and bank holidays. The gates are locked at 8pm in the summer, and at dusk in the winter.
