North Devon Crematorium
About Us
North Devon Crematorium opened in 1966, and is the only crematorium in the north of the county.The crematorium has two chapels called Rowan and Aspen, with Rowan being the largest crematorium chapel in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, seating up to 250 mourners. The Aspen chapel, which was refurbished in March, 2019 can seat up to 66.
Both chapels have facilities for playing digital music, displaying pictures and video tributes and webcasting services around the world. There are also toilets, including disabled toilets, and floral tribute areas in each chapel. There is a quiet room in the Rowan Chapel for people who would like some privacy before or after the service.
The standard service time at North Devon Crematorium is 30 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes for arrival and departure. Double time slots can be booked for a larger fee.
The crematorium is situated in extensive gardens, where a wide range of memorials can be installed. There is also an online book of remembrance.
The North Devon Crematorium office is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but it is closed on bank holidays. The car parks are open 8:15am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00am-4:30pm, on weekends and Bank Holidays.
There is car parking for 130 vehicles with some additional spaces available in the surrounding area.
