Maple Park Crematorium
About Us
Maple Park Crematorium in Hambleton, located near Thirsk, is named after the members of the Royal Canadian Air Force who lost their lives during WW2. In memory of this, 98 maple trees have been planted to commemorate the bombers lost in operations flown from nearby RAF Skipton-on-Swale.
The 22-acre site is nestled in a spacious and carefully-designed landscape which allows visitors to take in views of the rolling Hambleton hills. The crematorium building has similarly been designed to be light and airy, with views of the open countryside all year round.
The chapel at Maple Park can accommodate 120 mourners, with additional room for standing. The single storey facility is fully accessible, and includes a wake facility and café. During the service, you can play music and show video or photo tributes to your loved one on large screens.
Maple Park Crematorium has a memorial garden, meadows and a wooded area making it a calm and peaceful place for reflection or for scattering ashes. There is also a digital book of remembrance - the first in North Yorkshire - which you can inscribe, and access at any time.
The office at Maple Park is open Monday to Friday, from 9am until 4:30pm. The grounds are open during these office hours every weekday, but depending on the season the weekend times vary. During Autumn/Winter weekends and Bank Holidays the grounds are open from 9am until 5pm, and during Spring/Summer weekends and Bank Holidays they remain open until 7pm.
