Hastings Cemetery and Crematorium
About Us
Hastings Cemetery and Crematorium was opened in 1856 and is situated within a beautifully maintained 87 acre site. Located to the north east of Hastings town, the crematorium has glorious views over parts of the Sussex Weald and Rye Bay.
As a cemetery, the site dates back over 150 years, with the Crematorium opening in 1956. The facilities and equipment have been recently updated to meet the latest environmental standards.
Hastings Crematorium chapel seats over 80 people, and there is an overflow area for larger ceremonies. There are many options for memorials and remembrance at the crematorium, including a natural woodland burial area, and woodland walk, where ashes can be scattered in a peaceful and quiet environment, a garden of remembrance, and space for cremated remains to be buried.
The crematorium grounds are open 365 days a year for walkers and visitors on foot. Car parking is available from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday, and from 9am to 4:30pm on weekends. The crematorium office is closed on weekends.
