Great Grimsby Crematorium is located on Weelsby Avenue in Grimsby. It contains a committal chapel, memorial facilities and gardens of remembrance for the local community.
Funeral services at Grimsby Crematorium last for 40 minutes, but this time can be extended by prior arrangement. There are two chapels on the site, which both contain hymn books and organs, as well as the main crematorium service room which has a modern music system.
The gardens of rest at Great Grimsby Crematorium contain many different memorial and remembrance options. These include a memorial tree, located in the waiting area of the crematorium, wall plaques and vaults, among others. The gardens themselves are made up of a mixture of lawns, shrubs, trees and flower beds where ashes can be strewn.
The crematorium office is open from 9am until 4:45pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am until 4:15pm on Fridays. The office is closed on all weekends and bank holidays. From Monday to Saturday, the grounds at Great Grimsby Crematorium are open from 9am until 4pm in January, November and December, from 9am until 5pm in February, March and October, from 9am until 6pm in April and September, and from 9am until 7pm from May until August. On Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day the grounds are open from 10am until close, according to the month.
