City of London Cemetery and Crematorium
About Us
Well known for its triple-arched gateway, the City Of London Crematorium is a Grade I listed landscape in East London. Set in the 200-acres of green cemetery, City of London Crematorium was converted from the Aldersbrook Manor in 1854.
The crematorium is one of the largest such municipal amenities in Europe, with many chapels available, including the former Anglican and Dissenters' Chapels (now non-denominational). There are also two crematoria, the old and the new, however the old is no longer used for cremations, but acts solely as a place for services instead.
The vast grounds offers many sentimental spots for memorial, such as a rose bush, or a woodland area for burial. There is also a columbarium, private grave interment and many other options to commemorate your loved one and provide a place for their ashes.
There is plenty of parking for funerals, but the City of London Crematorium is also well-served by public transport. Close by is Manor Park Rail station, and the nearest underground is Wanstead Park.
