Borders Crematorium
About Us
The Borders Crematorium, in Melrose, is set in the lee of the Eildon Hills within walking distance of the River Tweed.Services are conducted every hour, so families can arrive and leave in their own time. Longer services can be arranged on request.
The chapel, which is warm and decorated with fresh flowers, can be decorated for services in any denomination or religion. There is seating for 100 mourners and standing space for 50 additional people. Music can be selected from a Wesley Media System. Floral tributes will be displayed on the crematorium’s Flower Terrace for at least 3 days after the funeral.
The service can be broadcast outside the chapel for larger attendances, and webcast so that people who cannot attend it can watch it remotely. The crematorium can also produce DVD recordings of it.
The crematorium has a large and tranquil Garden of Remembrance with views across the open countryside. A wide range of traditional and contemporary memorials can be installed in it, including cremation tablets, benches and flower beds.
In partnership with ‘Ashes with Art’ the Borders Crematorium can also arrange for cremation jewellery to be made for you.
The Borders Crematorium’s office is open 9-5 Monday-Friday. On weekdays the gardens are open 9-6, April-September, and 9-5 October-March, and 10-4:30 on weekends and public holidays all year round. There is parking for 70 cars.
