Basildon and District Crematorium in Basildon, Essex is situated in the peaceful countryside and caters to bereaved families in South East Essex. Offering lovely views of River Thames and Kent Hills, the privately owned crematorium is also known as Bowers Gifford Crematorium.

In the days or weeks after a cremation service here, the ashes may be scattered or interred in the crematorium garden, and are kept until they are collected by you or your funeral director.

There is a warm and welcoming chapel at the premises which can seat up to 100 guests. Open to all faiths and religions, the cremation service can be personalised according to the family’s wishes.

Funeral services at Basildon and District Crematorium are allocated 40 minutes, although this timeframe can be extended at extra charge, if needed. The chapel can be decorated with family flowers, and floral tributes can also be donated for use in the chapel following the funeral.

The chapel is equipped with state of the art facilities such as a digital music system, loudspeakers and webcasting and recording services.

There are a number of memorial options at Bowers Gifford Crematorium. Traditional-style memorials include cremation ashes plots, cremation tablets, vases and kerbs, with living memorials including trees, rose tributes and the memorial gardens.

Contemporary memorials include wooden or granite benches, bird baths or reflection stones) personal memorials (jewellery or glass art fashioned from cremation ashes) or an entry into the Book of Remembrance which is displayed at the chapel.
