Baldarroch Crematorrium
About Us
Baldarroch Crematorium opened in 2016, after 15 years of discussions and planning. The crematorium is situated in a stunning rural location in Aberdeenshire that is accessible by public transport.Services are 30 minutes, but the crematorium allows an additional 30 minutes before and after to allow mourners to arrive and leave in their own time. Longer services can be arranged on request. Services can be conducted 10-4 Mondays-Thursdays and 10-14:30 on Fridays. There are no services at Baldarroch Crematorium on weekends.
154 people can sit in the chapel and there is standing space for approximately 80 other mourners.
The multi-faith chapel, which is decorated with fresh flowers, can be adapted to the requirements of any denomination or religion by prior arrangement. The digital music system has a library of approximately 12,000 pieces, but the chapel also has its own Viscount Envoy 35-F organ. There are TV screens in the chapel to display photographs and video, and services can also be broadcast on a screen in the foyer.
There are floral tribute and handshaking areas in the chapel, and flowers will be displayed outside for at least 7 days after the service. Baldarroch Crematorium offers several different types of memorial in its grounds: in addition to its columbarium and a memorial wall, sanctums and kerb memorials are also available.
The car park has 55 spaces, including 5 disabled bays. The Crematorium provides 55 overflow spaces and additional parking is available at nearby Crathes Village Hall.
The buildings are ‘wheelchair-friendly,’ with no steps or stairs and also has disabled toilets, a hearing loop and a spare wheelchair. Baldarroch crematorium’s opening hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday.
